Our previous coordinator, Jessi Ward has moved on to a new position at the PDC and our new Physician Integration Coordinator is Angela Cotton. Angela has worked in the PDC Patient Safety and Accreditation office for the past year and is familiar with PDC and Duke resources. We are very excited to have Angela on board and will be setting up a meeting later this spring so you can all meet Angela in person as we move into the new faculty onboarding season.

Topics of discussion include: • Beginning of a prospective study to establish an association between pre-existing sleep apnea and postoperative delirium • Anticholinergic activity of propofol All are invited to attend. For more information, contact Madan Kwatra, kwatr001@mc.duke.edu.

SAVE THE DATE: Quarterly Triangle TEE Conference You are cordially invited to the next Quarterly Triangle TEE Conference. The lectures will be given by UNC Anesthesiology Fellows, Dr. Emily Graham and Dr. Harrison Kibe on the topic of “Atrial Myxomas”. The dinner conference will be held from 6:30 – 9:00 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Bocci’s Italian Trattoria. Space is limited, so please register at your earliest convenience. The cost of the dinner for faculty is $30/person; fellows are residents may attend free of charge.

We thank Jessi for all of her help over the past two years. She has been a great partner and we appreciate everything she did to move our department forward in the faculty onboarding process. We wish her good luck in her new position!
