Duke Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Strategic Plan Overview

Duke Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences embarked on a strategic planning process in 2019 that engaged more than 100 members of the department and resulted in a five-year strategic plan. We’re currently in the second year of implementation. The plan is comprised of five pillars:

Clinical

Promote access to evidencebasedbehavioral health care andconsultation across Duke Healthto deliver integrated patient-centered care andimprove the health and well-being of patients;develop and implement an innovative care modeland leverage interdisciplinary translational research.

Research

Produce innovative, groundbreakingscience to elucidate andsupport psychiatric and behavioralhealth; share our science to enhance the wellbeingof individuals, families and our communities.

Education

Create educational and trainingmodels that emphasize innovation,integration and rigor to attract andretain future leaders in the field.
