Place Making Programs

Advocacy & Partnerships

Working with partners in both the public and private realms, we focus on creating a remarkable experience through exceptional place making programs. This entails focusing attention on the quality of public spaces. The DTSF Clean & Green Team and Downtown Ambassadors play a vital role in ensuring that visitors to the area are welcomed by a clean, safe and friendly environment.

We represent downtown interests at a multitude of taskforces and committees making sure that downtown interests are heard to enhance the business environment and quality of life. Much of our work is accomplished through effective partnerships that leverage resources and advance our downtown district. In the FY12, we fostered partnerships and advocacy efforts with the following:

Events & Promotions

Each year, we dedicate a large amount of our resources in creating, planning and hosting community events and promotions. Through our events and promotions, we attracted approximately 49,828 visitors to the downtown district. Our events help to increase awareness of downtown as a premier destination for residents and visitors and are designed to educate and entertain our community and visitors. We are grateful for the hard work of our community minded volunteers and the gracious support from our sponsors, partners and supporters. Through their support, in the FY 2012 we helped create, plan and execute the following events and promotions.

Economic Development This year the Downtown Economic Development Incentive Fund Committee (DEDIF) expanded their efforts to include packaging and promoting local, regional and national business assistant programs for entrepreneurs and small business owners, hosted business education seminars including Marketing and Social Media training, created a business recruitment kit to position downtown as a superior business environment and designed to assist commercial brokers and partner organizations in the recruitment of new businesses to downtown.
