The BIA staff are working hard to support our Downtown core by using our platforms, to help increase online traffic. WHY YOU SHOULD ENGAGE & HOW The shift to online sales and other services allow for your business to continue to provide to the community and customers/clients. Being a business owner in the core right now brings a sense of community back into all of this social distancing. Providing your expertise and knowledge to the people at home allow for that to continue, it is just in a different way. Bringing viewership with you allows for the contests for the people to enjoy the live videos as well as have a bonus for watching in winning a contest. Here are some ways you can prepare and participate: • Share easy pantry recipes that people can do at home • Start how-to videos on how to rearrange pants in your home to give it a new look • Quick tips on how to do a nice mop-chop (haircut) • Include a fun hashtag in your Social Media.

SOCIAL MEDIA We know coming up with content, posting to your account and responding to comments on Social Media can be time consuming but it can also boost the amount of viewers who choose to support your business. Social Media is a great way to advertise during these unsettling times and bring the community back together, even if it is from a distance. Along with social media, leaving positive google reviews helps those businesses maintain strong online presence. Getting people excited about cooking, redecorating/rearranging, cleaning, entertainment and more. Content ideas Not sure what to post? Here are some great ideas to boost your following and keep people interested: • Themed food, drink and entertainment • Share images that are clear and aesthetically pleasing to your Instagram grid and Facebook page. • Post videos to your Instagram and Facebook stories and live stream announcements or highlights you think people will find exciting. • If you see someone posted a photo at your establishment, reach out and get permission to reshare on your page or to your story. • Use Instagram stories and Live stream so people can follow along Imagery & media for posting Here are some tips on the types of images and media to post and where to post them: • Be creative with your imagery and content. • Stay away from stock photos or images that look like stock photos.
