GOLDEN INVESTMENTS IN HONOR OF 50TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR In addition to the $1 million gift from Ben and Betty Davenport to establish the Early Childhood Development Institute, more than $1.4 million was raised in honor of the 50th Anniversary. Funds raised were earmarked for a number of special initiatives, including: • A $100,000 GIFT FROM INOVA to establish a Fellows Scholarship Program for Northern Virginia students studying health care related fields. • A $50,000 GIFT FROM DOMINION to establish scholarships to expand educational opportunities for veterans, particularly through attainment of a workforce credential.
• A $50,000 GIFT FROM CARILION CLINIC to the Workforce Credential Start-Up Fund, to build capacity and support start-up programs in workforce credentials. • GIFTS THAT HELPED INCREASE OR ENDOW A NUMBER OF NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS, including the Dana B. Hamel Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship, the Eva Teig Hardy
