Newington, Conn. Town Hall Scheduled To Reopen After Sewer Line Repairs NEWINGTON -- Town hall is closed again Monday after a sewer main failure was discovered late Thursday. Newington Police Sergeant Ryan Deane announced at about 5:45 Monday morning that Newington Town Hall, Board of Education offices, the Board of Education Transition Academy and the local offices of the Central Connecticut septic tank septic holding tank suppliers Health District would be closed because of cold temperatures inside the building. Town Manager John Salomone said Sunday the crawl space where the failure was found is located in the same crawl space as the building's storage tanks heat. The sewer line failure left town hall with no working bathrooms, forcing the town to close the building. The building, which also houses the Mortensen Community Center and the school board offices, remained closed through the weekend. Salomone said the repairs will likely cost upward of $50,000, not including clean up. The money will likely come from the town's contingency budget. http://www.courant.com/community/newington/hc-newington-town-hall-sewer-main-1019-20151018story.html http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Sewage_treatment
