The Consortium America Export was founded in 1992 with the aim to support and develop promotional activities of Italian SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in the USA, Central and South America. Over many years of activity, the Consortium America Export has developed an established network of contacts and collaborations with many organizations and Italian and foreign institutions and has signed numerous cooperation agreements and conventions with the aim of providing assistance and more and more qualified promotional services to the associated companies. The Consortium America Export has participated in the most important international trade fairs and, at the same time, has organized several promotional events such as wine tastings, educational tours in Italy for journalists and foreign buyers and economic missions of Italian enterprises in the United States, Central and South America. Since the United States are the most important market for Italian wine exports, the Consortium America Export has been involved primarily with promotional activities in the United States. These activities are designed to enhance the image of Italian wines and to sustain the balance between supply and demand. Italian wines continue to be a popular choice among all wines imported in American restaurants. It’s no coincidence that Italian cuisine is the first ethnic cuisine in the United States, and Italian wines are “food friendly”, capable of being combined with dishes from various traditions. Over the past two years, besides the United States market, the Consortium America Export has carried out promotional activities in Mexico, Central and South America as well. In the future, we plan to further expand promotional activities to introduce a better wine quality and strengthen our presence in these markets.

OUR VISION & MISSION The mission of Promotrade Corp. is to help Italian wine producers of outstanding quality to enter with good positioning in markets such as United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. Our objectives are making the entrance in these markets as smooth as possible and ensuring that the positioning of the enterprises inside them is stable, longlasting and profitable.

OUR STRATEGY Our strategy is to propose and work together with the original wine producers in developing penetration projects in one or more countries in America. These projects are developed starting from accurate market research regarding adequacy of products for countries and regions, best ways to introduce those products, best ways to present them to consumers in those regions, most adequate wine flavors, labels and bottles. In addition, we enhance products’ visibility by facilitating their presentations in wine fairs, wine tastings, and help wine producers come to contact with a large number of importers and distributors, to maximize opportunities for both wine producers and wine importers and distributors. WHEN THE WINE PRODUCER FINDS A DISTRIBUTOR, THIS COMES TOGETHER WITH A CONTRACT OF IMPORTS OR DISTRIBUTION. We also help in execution of all paperwork that is necessary such as label and names registration and in the process of market distribution.

Italian Wines: DOCG, DOC and IGT Italy’s glowing reputation with wine is due not only to the fact that it produces and exports more than any other country but that it offers the greatest variety of types, ranging through nearly every color, flavor and style imaginable. Italian producers have moved rapidly to the forefront of world enology, improving techniques to create wines of undeniable class in every region, north and south. Their wines derive not only from native vines, which represent an enormous array, but also from a complete range of international varieties. It is important to point out that the prestige which is now attached to the name of Italy’s finest wines, sought and requested in all of the world’s markets where fine wine is consumed, should not be allowed to overshadow the single most important aspect of Italian wine: its astonishing variety. Unlike other major producing countries, where viticulture is confined to specific areas, often separated from others by great distances, the vine is cultivated everywhere in Italy, from the Alps to southeastern corner of Sicily. In addition to the very significant climatic differences which inevitably result, the geography of the country, famously hilly, has created an undulating topography with an undescribable richness of specific vineyard situations. Not all wines are prepared in the same way. Vinification and aging techniques vary substantially according to the type of wine which the producer wishes to obtain. Italian wine production, as established by law, is divided into categories, or denominations , which together from a kind of quality pyramid. At the base of the pyramid are the “vini da tavola” or table wines, ordinary products which need only have a minimum alcoholic strength of 10° and non supplementary descriptions may be added to their name. In the next category of the pyramid are the IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) wines.Their production rules regulate the grape varieties which can be used and maximum yields per acre, just to give two examples, and the vintage year may be put on the label. The central feature of the legislation concerns DOC (denominazione di origine controllata) wines. Each denomination or appellation contains precise rules prescribing the exact geographical area from which the grapes of DOC wines must come, the manner and period of the aging of the wines, and certain basic minimum chemical parameters (alcohol, acidity, dry extract), and even the maximum yield in juice from the grapes. DOC wines can indicate their vintage date and, where permitted by the rules of the individual appellations, the grape varieties used in the blend. DOCG (denominazione di origine controllata e garantita) wines represent, instead, the peak of the quality pyramid. A DOCG is a sort of super DOC: production rules are more rigorous, and both chemical and tasting controls are envisaged each and every time a certain quantity of wine bottled. DOCG wines carry a strip (pink for red wines, green for white wines) which is a kind of seal of approval of the Italian state, numbered and guaranteed to the single producer according to the amount of wine which has satisfied the required test and controls. Italian wines exports to United States continue their impressive expansion: the market quota of Italian wines increased to 31,3% in quantity and 35,3% in value during the first five months of 2011. Italy is again leader of imported wines in the US. 6

Presentation Federexport Piemonte

Federexport Piemonte is a private non-profit association with the purpose of supporting and developing the activities of Export Consortia active in the Piedmont Region, promoting the syndicated model, the collaboration between the associated consortia and the coordination of their activities. Ferderexport Piemonte was founded in 1992 in Turin by Piedmont Export Consortia, in order to plan and coordinate the promotional activities in foreign markets. The Federation satisfies the needs of the associated companies, exploiting the experience gained over many years by each single Consortium. Moreover, it selects and coordinates a number of promotional events common to all the Consortia. The main goal of the Federation is to help the pooled companies in every phase of market penetration, especially in those countries wich present a more complex business environment and are geographically more distant. The greatest benefit in working with us is a strong promotional support in covering various expenses for organizing wine tasting, educational tours, technical seminars, btob workshops, free samples, promotional corners, etc.

The Boeri wine estate was established around 1900 when the greatgrandfather of the current owners, Alfonso Boeri, began growing vines on the slopes of Bricco Quaglia. In all these years, starting with greatgrandfather Alfonso, grandfather Giovanni and father of the current owners, Alfonso, each generation passed onto the next one passion for winemaking: for the hard work it entails and for the immense satisfactions its brings. In 1998 Giorgio and Roberto Boeri, the current owners, took in their hands the management of the estate. They decided to cultivate grapes of the highest quality and

8

to produce and bottle outstanding wines. As the name for their wines they chose Alfonso Boeri, paying homage to the great-grandfather and father Alfonso. Their first wine was Barbera d’Asti Superiore Pörlapà whose grapes come from a vineyards that was first planted by grandfather Giovanni in 1936. Encouraged by the success of their first wine, Giorgio and Roberto began producing additional wines whose grapes come from the Bricco Quaglia vineyards. They also planted several new vineyards, focusing not only on the traditional Barbera, but also on Moscato, Chardonnay and even Nebbiolo – the grape variety used for making

Barolo and Barbaresco. Starting with the first production of 4000 bottles in 2001, the estate has been growing continuously, especially due to the constant enthusiasm for Boeri wines in Italy and abroad. In 2001 Boeri wines acquired their first European clients, in 2005 entered the Asian market, and in 2006 the United States. Today Boeri wines are exported with success to 15 countries in Europe, Asia and North America, and the company continuously seeks to presents its wines in new markets, as is shown by the recent addition of a collaboration with Greece and in 2011 with China.

Cantina Sociale di Monte Porzio Catone

In the most ancient historical documents the locality is referred to as the agricultural estate or fee called “Mons.Porculi”. The name “Monteporzio” appears for the first time on the deed dated February 7, 1252, with which the Colonna brothers divided the fee. In 1872 the predicate “Catone” was added in order to distinguish this town from one having the same name in the province of Pesaro, and in honor of the

10

famous Roman censor Marco Porcio Catone who was born in this area. The entire area is strewn with ruins of Roman constructions of the republican and imperial epochs, dominated at that time by the fabulous city of Tusculum, at first a fierce rival of Rome, and later its splendid “municipium”, that is, a town governed by its own laws while enjoying the right of Roman citizenship.

CONSORZIO AMERICA EXPORT

Thus the entire territory was chosen as a residential zone, not only because of the perfect security that reigned throughout the countryside surrounding the proud “ Caput Mundi”, but also because of the healthy climate, the fruitfulness of the soil with its volcanic origin, and the high quality of its agricultural products. Here affluent and influential families were wont to spend periods of undisturbed rest. The forest of oak that covered the slopes of the hills yielded gradually to fertile, highly select vineyards. In this splendid area on February 2, 1960, the Cantina Social di Monte Porzio Catone was instituted, composed of 250 members who harvest and contribute their own grapes for the production of the famous D.O.C. Frascati wine (D.P.R. March 3,1966 G.V. May 16, 1966, n° 118), which draws its rare finesse and exceptional characteristics from the mature grapes carefully selected during each grape harvest. Frascati Superior wine highlights every type of meal. It is perfect companion for cold hors d’oeuvres, vegetable dishes, pasta, roast and fish. Frascati dry wine goes well with all soup and entrées, all rice and pasta dishes, and with all food specialties in general.

Loazzolo, which nestles in a natural amphitheatre situated at over 500 metres above sea level in the hills of Asti’s Alta Langa district, is one of Italy’s smallest DOC appellations. Our ties with this land go back many generations, strengthened by the knowledge that we are the custodians of a truly unique natural heritage that belongs first and foremost to Mother Nature. We have created the Terra Protetta project in recognition of its immense worth. This incredible terroir is so single-mindedly dedicated to the production of excellent wines and yet it has so many secrets that many are destined to remain a mystery simply because its unfathomable beauty reaches far beyond the limits of rational thought. Nevertheless, we are committed on both a personal and financial level to protecting it and sustaining it. We are grateful for each and every harvest. My name is Silvano BOLMIDA and i’m an small vinegrover placed in Bussia of Monforte d’Alba, one of the most reknovned area is the Nebbiolo for BAROLO wine production. My farm estate is composed by 6 hectares of vineyards directly cultivated by me and my family, with an average production of 30.000 bottles that in the next years can arrive to 40.000 bottles. In the vineyards, we have careful respect of soil and environment to maintain the original flavor that arrives from our renowned hills; every year, we plant inside the vineyards special herbs (legu-

18

minose) that, fixing nitrogen from the atmosphere, naturally fertilize the soil without adding artificial chemicals. Harvest is naturally hand-made by my family following polifenolic ripening of grapes ; fermentation are really long (30/40 days or more) to keep maximum flavour possible from skins . Ripening for all my wines is made in small but not new barrels to enable micro-oxygenation from wood (which aids fixing of color and ripe tannin flavor) By the way for example , Dolcetto wine is bottled in june after har-

CONSORZIO AMERICA EXPORT

vest ; Barbera is bottled on february second year (Barbera 2008 was bottled in february 2010 after one year in wood and some month in inox tank to take natural cold temperature during winter time.). Concerning Barolo, after thwo years in wood (first one in small barrel, second one in bigger ones), I keep the wine in stainless steel tank for a few months, then transfer it to bottles during the months of july/august of the third year, in order to have it refine in glass for at least 9 months before sending to market.

Wines BAROLO BUSSIA

BARBERA D’ALBA

Carefully following the evolution of the polyphenolic maturation, it is in the second week of October that we harvest our most precious bunches, most of them produced by 50-year-old vines. These Nebbioli ferment on the skins over 4 weeks. As for the Barolo Vigne Fantini maturation takes place the first year in barrique in contact with the lees and the second and third year in small oak barrels and 500-lt- tonneaux. Bottled without filtering at the beginning of the third year, it is fined in bottle for further 14 months before release. From a surface of 13,700 square metres 6,000 bottles on average are produced.

During the first week of October , following the order of maturation of the 4 vineyards from 9 to 50 years old, we start handpicking and pressing the bunches of this Barbera. After the fermentation, lasting from 14 to 21 days, the wine is ready to mature in barrique and tonneaux . It stays in contact with noble lees until the following September. It is then clarified and bottled without any filtering. It is fined for 6 months in bottle before being released. From 8.600 square metres of vineyards 5,000 bottles on average are produced. In “ CONCA DEL GRILLO” the alcoholic freshness merges into the generous nose and the full flavour.

DOLCETTO D’ALBA

LANGHE NEBBIOLO

Harvest is usually in mid-September and after a fermentation of 6/7 days in contact with skins, the unfinished wine is matured in old barrique for about 4 months. A fining in cement vats follows until June when it is bottled without any filtering. From 8,000 square metres of vineyard 4,500 bottles on average are produced. In this wine you can find the rich components mixed to the characteristic generous nose and fresh taste.

After the harvest in the first week of October, it ferments on the skins for a period of 6-7 days heightening the floral and elegant components typical of this structured grapevine. The following maturation in barrique, as always in contact with lees until August, makes it gentle ready to bottling without any filtering. The choice of producing this wine helps me to leave the most selected bunches to the production of the elder and more prestigious brother: the BAROLO.

annual production of 300 tons of grapes. From these grapes are produced almost 2,000 hectolitres of D.O.C. wine, per year, a modest quantity that is a guarantee for high quality. The high quality of the wines is granted by selected vineyards, each cultivated in a precise geographical area. According to historical records the history of the Rambellis as a wine producer and wine merchant started about 200 hundred years ago in the Romagnola region of Italy. It was a well-to-do family of possible noble heritage, fond of good foods. Their favourite dish was tortellini which in the local dialect was called “Caplet”, and the family descendants were nicknamed “Caplet Rambelli”.During the 2d World War, our grandfather Antonio Rambelli, with all his family, had to move to the Verona area (Veneto). Today, the family winemaking tradition is continued in the Verona province under the company name of Villa Caplet. Azienda Agricola Villa Caplet was established in 1996, when the Rambellis bought a vineyard of 21 ha, situated in the world-wide famous wine region Valpolicella, a name which according to some historians derives from the Latin “Vallis pollis cellae”, literally Valley of many cellars.

Le Ginestre is a wine farm located in the village of Grinzane Cavour, approximately 6 km from Alba in the north-west of Italy. Lying in the outstanding wine-growing area of the Langhe hills in Piedmont, Grinzane Cavour is one of only 11 villages where Barolo can be produced. The view from the Ginestre hill ranges over a series of gentle hills stretching out into the distance. Here the vineyard shapes the architecture of the landscape, which merges with the culture of the wine - Barolo - that originated here and continues to encapsulate the area’s appeal in a glass.

On the wall in one of the rooms on the main floor at the royal castle of Govone, visitors will find the plan of the town and its land drawn up by 1781. In those days, not only were hamlets and suburbs registered but hillsides and valleys al-

most completely covered in vines, were also rigorously rotated. The tradition of producing good wines on these lands is deeply rooted in time. Even though the production and fermentation techniques were not

The estate run by Maddalena CORDELLA was established in 1998 when Maddalena’s father, Orlando Cordella, transferred part of the bigger family estate to her. Heading south-east from Montalcino hill towards the village of Torrenieri, the MELETO farmhouse, with the estate’s main office, stands on a hill among green vineyards and surrounded by the Tuscan hills favoured by photographers and the cypresses of the Natural and Artistic Val D’Orcia Park. The grapes grown on the estate’s vineyards since 1998 had been sold, but in 2006 Maddalena, together with her father, decided to vinify a part of the grapes produced. About 2 hec-

The Oenologist PAOLO VAGAGGINI takes care of the actual wine making. This is the reason why Maddalena decided to distinguish her Wine and the other products from her estate with her last name, so as to show the affection and passion that link her to both her family and to the territory she lives in. It is her philosophic view of running the estate, that is to say, making strict and targeted choices whether in the vineyards or in the cellars, that enables her to produce such a high quality product, sought after by top Italian and foreign connoisseurs.

Wines BARBERA D’ASTI

BAROLO CHINATO

Produced with grapes from a vineyard located in Costigliole d’Asti area. Intense ruby red in colour, it slightly turns into a garnet hue with ageing.

Historically employed as a healing beverage, it is prepared with DOCG Barolo wine, aromatic herbs, cardamom seeds, red succirubra chinkona bark, cloves, vanille.

Dry and well alcoholic in the mouth, its acidity is pleasantly remarkable. Intensely winy with a hint of violet, it becomes Coudron scented with ageing. It has strong velvet hints when young, while it turns into an austere and full bodied wine with ageing. When it is young, this wine is suitable for accompanying several dishes from Piedmont cuisine and fits hors d’oeuvres; once aged it proves to be perfect with demanding red meat and game dishes.

GAVI DI GAVI

ROSIS

Quiet meal wine, straw yellow in colour.

The bewildering presence of a rosé wine in a strict range of traditional Piedmont wines.

Delicately winy on the nose with fruity hints, itís dry, freshly scented, and tasty and aromatic. It gives its best six-eight months after grape harvesting. To be served at a 8 to 10°C temperature. It perfectly accompanies hors díoeuvres and sea dishes.

Nonetheless, this rosé wine is obtained from our Nebbiolo grapes, thus making surprise giving space to experimentation. Starting from grapes usually intended for important and suitablefor-ageing wines, the result is a fresh, young wine with hints of exotic fruits. For sure, we will keep producing it even if in reduced quantities.

The winemaking tradition goes centuries back in the Bera family. However, only in the early 80’s did they start to vinify for bottling and direct sale with their own labels, thanks to the helping hand of the son Valter, a graduate from the Enological School of Alba. Bera is a family farm, since generations owned by the Bera’s: with the extension about 30 hc, of the 17 which are vineyards and 12 are Moscato. However, only in the early 80’s did they start to vinify for bottling and direct sale with their own labels, thanks to the helping hand of the son Valter, a graduate from the Enological School of Alba. In the Langhe, on the right side of the river Tanaro, between Alba and Asti, surrounded

by the villages of Barbaresco, Neive, Mango and Treiso you find the village Neviglie. Following the road from Neive to Neviglie, on the left you’ll notice a hill with soft slopes, covered with vineyards, on the top at the center, the old master house, and lower down the new living quarters and the new wine cellar. The ground is clayey and tuffaceous, rich in limestone; a windy spot due to the conformation of the hills and the altitude varying from 320 to 380 m above sea level. and facing south-southwest. The basic philosophy is to be very respectful to the tradition of the territory: with a great passion and a great desire to make high quality wines, all the phases of the work is followed

directly; the coltivation of the grapes, the transformation and the bottling. Since the farm grows mainly Moscato grapes , it is natural to produce Moscato d’Asti, which represents the new emerging reality of the winemakers - bottlers and it also produces Asti Spumante, in an attempt to relaunch this historic wine, now almost exclusively produced by the big bottler companies. We believe in and insist on the Moscato, but also in the Asti: we welcome even the most sceptical consumers to taste the Asti, because we believe it to be a very interesting product, one that can bring together the whole table in a joyful cheer, even those with little bond to the world of wines and the very young ones.

From the homonymous vine, but it is not a proper term for this wine, since the grapes are very sweet, not very acid nor tannic, and are good to eat. The stalks are removed from the grapes, then they are pressed and fermented with a brief maceration of must and skin, followed by the malolactic fermention. The wine is poured several times to become limpid and to separate the sediment. It is bottled the following spring to preserve the most of its characteristic freshness and vinousity, typical of this vine. Alcohol Content: 12,5%

It will be bottled only in springtime, and has a little more complex fragrance and taste, a better extract, and especially, it can be kept longer. Alcohol Content: 5%

In an area with a strong wine vocation, between the Langhe and Monferrato, the “Cantina Sociale di Canelli” (Canelli Co-operative Wine Growers’ Association) has been producing the classic wines of Piedmont since 1933, working with absolute respect for the traditions. The “Cantina Sociale di Canelli” is nowadays a production reality that brings together over 200 vine-growers. The wide assortment of products includes the most prestigious wines of the Asti area - reds obtained from the grapes of old vines, light, fresh and fruity whites, sweet and dry Spumanti. The buildings of the Cantina stretch over more than two thousand square metres, and it’s here that the various production phases take place, until the final product is obtained.

Wines LANGHE NEBBIOLO

LANGHE ROSSO LIVRAIE

Straw-yellow; penetrating, fruity nose with traces of sage and hay. Good body and just the right balance on the palate, with nice allround softness.

This wine is the result of experimentation, and demonstrates the Langhe area’s natural aptitude for the growing of quality wines.

Best served young as an aperitif and with light hors-d’oeuvres and fish, in order to appreciate its fragrance and overall elegance at their best.

Bright deep purply-red in colour, its mallow and cherry aromas merge on the nose with tobacco and vanilla from the wood. A wine of great stuffing and personality which will keep for many years. At its best after three years.
