Social Determinants of Health Explained World Health Organization (WHO) Definition: The social determinants of health (SDOH) are the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. SDOH are affected by the following: ➢

The distribution of money

The distribution of power

Resources at global, national and local levels.

Health inequities: These are thought to be mostly responsible for unfair and possibly avoidable differences in health status seen within and between countries.
