Feb. 28. The Lady Vols have gone unblemished 12 times at home, including nine perfect seasons at ThompsonBoling Arena. TRIPLE THE FUN Lady Frogs’ junior Helena Sverrisdottir recorded the second triple-double in TCU history on Jan. 2. The Hafnarfjordur, Iceland, native tossed in 17 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 11 assists in a 7874 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. One day later, the Lady Vols would see the second triple-double in UT history when sophomore Shekinna Stricklen scored 17 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 12 assists in a 96-75 win over No. 14/15 Oklahoma in Knoxville. THE ENVELOPE PLEASE... After claiming the regular-season Mountain West crown, the Lady Frogs also cleaned up some hardware with six TCU individuals earning conference recognition and all five starters from the final two regular season contests being selected. Helena Sverrisdottir was chosen by the league coaches as the Mountain West Player of the Year and head man Jeff Mittie was tabbed as the league’s Coach of the Year. Sverrisdottir and junior Emily Carter were selected to the First Team All-Mountain West Conference, while senior TK LaFleur was named to the Third Team. Freshman Starr Crawford and senior Eboni Mangum were each named Honorable Mention All-MWC. In addition, Mangum was selected to the AllDefensive Team. Senior TK LaFleur returned to the starting lineup for the last five contests and helped the Lady Frogs claim three straight victories on its way to clinching the MWC regular-season crown. Over those five games, she scored 11.8 ppg while converting 45.8 percent of her field goals, in addition to pulling down 5.0 rpg and dishing out 2.2 apg. In TCU’s 66-54 win over New Mexico on March 2, a victory that clinched the Mountain West title for the Lady Frogs, she recorded her first double-double of the season with game highs of 17 points and 10 rebounds. ONE GRAND GAME LaFleur joined current Lady Frog Helena Sverrisdottir in the 1,000-career-point club in the squad’s Jan. 27 home victory over Colorado State. Against the Rams, LaFleur tallied 11 points to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau. LaFleur, who began her career at Nebraska, now has 1,125 career points, of which 777 have come since she made the move to Fort Worth. BREWIN’ AN UPSET TCU owns a pair of victories over ranked foes this season with a home win over #10/5 Texas A&M (56-54) and a neutral court win over #18/23 Kansas (74-69). TCU now has 16 wins all-time over ranked opponents, all of which have come under current head coach Jeff Mittie. The Lady Frogs have beaten a top 25 foe in each

of the past eight seasons. Three of the program’s four all-time wins over top five teams have come in the past two seasons (2009-10 vs. #10/5 Texas A&M, 2008-09 vs. #3/5 Maryland and 2008-09 vs. #3/3 Cal). TCU isn’t always the beneficiary of a home court advantage either, as was the case in their win over the Aggies. The Lady Frogs have upset at least one ranked opponent away from Fort Worth in five of the last six seasons. STRAIGHT SEVEN TCU ripped off a month-long streak of seven consecutive victories, beginning with a win at SMU on Dec. 9 and ending with a loss at Wyoming on Jan. 13. Keying the Lady Frogs straight seven was junior Emily Carter. Over that month, the 6-1 lefthander averaged 18.1 ppg while converting at a 50.0 percent clip from the field and 47.1 percent from three-point range. Carter led TCU in scoring in four of the seven games and shot 50.0 percent from three-point range in five of the seven outings.
