PROTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Protest will be done in an orderly and peaceful manner. 2. Do not block the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic while marching. Community life must not be disrupted. 3. Stay out of the street at all times, except when crossing. 4. No violence, no threats, no profanity, no racism, no damage to property, no law-breaking. 5. Chants must not be disrespectful or derogatory. 6. Chanting will be done at three times : a) In presence of the media b) In presence of the Minister you are directing the protest too. c) In presence of the public (when there are a lot of people around to hear) At all other times we just march and hold our placards up high. Parliament must not be disturbed. 7. Placards â€“ be careful of what is placed on your placard, it might be used against you. 8. Maintain a degree of professionalism at all times especially when media is present. 9. Marching will be done in a single or double line on the sidewalks. 10. There will be no disruptions or disorder while protesting. 11. There will be no gathering or grouping while protesting. 12. No one is to address the protesting group other than the Union Leader or District Rep Leaders. 13. Only spokespersons will address the media unless told otherwise.
IF AT ANY TIME THERE IS LOSS OF CONTROL OR THE DEMONSTRATION BREAKS ANY OF THE RULES MENTIONED THE PROTEST WILL BE ENDED AND EVERYONE DISPERSED.
