Pink Ribbon Day

Brunch with an i The Shepparton News’ annual Pink Ribbon Day fundraising event for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Pink Ribbon Brunch, promises to build on the success of last year. Story: Laura Griffin

Shepparton News marketing co-ordinator Lisa Kubeil has been organising the event, with the help of a committee, since June. Mrs Kubeil said it was the sixth year Shepparton News had run the event and so far its efforts had raised $114 860 for National Breast Cancer Foundation. ‘‘Last year more than $50 000 was raised at our biggest event to date, and if we can at least match that amount this year we would be delighted, Mrs Kubeil said. She said each event had been a sell-out success and had grown from each year. About 100 people attended in the event’s first year, while last year 732 came along, which was the venue’s capacity. Ticket sales when ME went to print indicated more than 700 people would also attend this year’s event.
