ith two such spectacular Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses in one of the world’s most beautiful natural settings, it is no surprise that several of Punta Mita’s signature community events circle around golf. The annual Tail of the Whale Member-Guest Tournament is without doubt the highlight of the year for resident members, celebrating the best of Punta Mita: cuisine, community and friendships made and played on the golf course. And the Member-Guest trophy is the most coveted prize among Punta Mita Club Members. The Pacific Cup Series gives Punta Mita a chance to shine as the destination’s own version of the Ryders Cup, inviting other clubs for some friendly yet competitive play. Invitees have included the Colonial Country Club of Fort Worth, Texas, the Del Mar Country Club of San Diego, California, and the Chapultepec Club of Mexico City, who have enjoyed making new friendships on our stunning courses. Both the Member-Member and the Club Championship, as well as the recently added Match Play Championship, represent competitive Members-only events, while the weekly Sunday, Nine, Whine & Dine remains a classic casual event for all members to enjoy.

Sin lugar a duda, el Tail of the Whale Member-Guest Tournament es el evento más destacado del año para nuestros residentes, donde lo mejor que ofrece Punta Mita: gastronomía, comunidad y amistad, brillan sobre el campo de golf. Además, el Trofeo Member-Guest es el galardón más deseado entre los miembros del Punta Mita Golf Club. The Pacific Cup Series es la oportunidad perfecta para que Punta Mita destaque con esta edición propia de la Ryders Cup, a la que se invita a otros clubes para jugar de forma amistosa, aunque competitiva. Algunos de los invitados que han participado han sido el Colonial Country Club de Fort Worth, Texas, el Del Mar Country Club de San Diego, California y el Chapultepec Club de la Ciudad de México, cuyos miembros han podido disfrutar haciendo nuevas amistades en nuestros impresionantes campos de golf. A Milne once quipped that “golf is so popular simply because it is the best game in the world at which to be bad.”, and while that may hold some truth, the Punta Mita Golf Academy is taking a state-of-the-art approach to bettering your game play. PMGA is the most technologically advanced golfing center in Mexico, featuring a 3D Motion Analysis, Center of Gravity Analysis, V1 Digital Video Analysis, Trackman 4 with Impact Location, the SAM Puttlab, Hack Motion Golf Wrist Sensor and Mitchell Iron and Putter Bending Machines. The academy also features auditory biofeedback, used to alert players to positive or negative motion, allowing them to “feel” the difference when working on their swing.
