I promised to share my interview with our ESA Director General, Josef Aschbacher in this newsletter as we didn’t have room to share in the last edition. After the Crew 4 post-launch press conference at NASA Kennedy, the night when our ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti launched with her 3 NASA crew mates to begin her 6 month mission on the International Space Station, I got a chance to chat with our ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher about the launch, ESA's growing collaboration with NASA on their long-term human space exploration strategy, Women in STEM and Diversity as priority areas in ESA's long-term strategy, and how their astronaut selection process is faring. The new recruits will be announced at this winters Ministerial.
