GOLF TOURNAMENT WAS A SUCCESS

Links on the Bayou Golf Course was windy May 20, 2011 as Rapides Station Community Ministries, Inc hosted its first Annual Golf Tournament. Lunch was served at 12:00 and all players were assembled in their teams, land in their golf carts by 1:15. Par for the golf course is 72; our teams did very well.

RAPIDES STATION COMMUNITY MINISTRIES AT LARGE Alexandria Health Fair Urgent Care services has opened in Alexandria at Windermere Boulevard and they hosted a health fair. Local radio station FM 106.9 was present and interviewed Linda Venson, RSCM Administrative Director and Willie Watson, Regions Bank Branch Manager and RSCM Board Member. Attendees had Blood Sugars measured to screen for Diabetes, Blood samples were taken to screen for high cholesterol, eyes were evaluated for glaucoma and cataracts and blood pressures were measured. Each booth had light refreshments and everyone had a smile to share.

Natchitoches, Louisiana Home Ownership Weekend Festivities RSCM was present in Natchitoches, Louisiana June 11, 2011 for the homeownership campaign sponsored by Louisiana Housing and Finance Agency.

Louisiana Housing and Finance Agency annually hosts a Homebuyer’s Fair at different locations throughout the state. Page 2

The targeted location coordinates with the Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) regions throughout

the state. This year is was located in the pavilion at Natchitoches riverwalk area.

RAPIDES STATION COMMUNITY MINISTRIES AT LARGE Natchitoches, Louisiana RSCM was present in Natchitoches, Louisiana June 11, 2011 at the riverside area along with vendors selling honey, jewelry, vegetables, toys, folk art and crafts as part of community outreach sponsored by Louisiana Housing and Finance Agency.

COMPLETES CONSTRUCTION ON FIVE NEW HOUSES WHICH ARE NOW FOR SALE Three houses located in Alsace-Lorraine Subdivision and two in Pineville are ready to sale. Two houses on Coeur Circle have been spoken for and the purchasing process has begun. The remaining houses are available for touring and purchase. Interested persons should call 318-487-9254 and speak with Linda Venson or stop by the office at 1429 Third Street, Alexandria Monday through Friday 8:30 –5:30.
