Roger Knapp Tennis Center

The Home of Drake Tennis

The Drake Tennis Center opened on Oct. 10, 1992, and was the first of five major building projects to be dedicated during the 1992-93 academic year. The 48,000 square foot facility has a seating capacity of 320 and was built for $1.7 million. The facility features six indoor and six outdoor courts as well as locker rooms, player lounges and coaches offices for both head men’s coach Jimmy Borendame and women’s head coach Urska Juric. The outdoor courts were removed following the 2009 season with brand new courts featuring a reconfigured layout making their debut during the 2009 fall campaign. Viewing of all six courts is now possible from a center viewing section. The Drake Tennis Center has hosted numerous Intercollegiate Tennis Association regionals as well as Missouri Valley Conference Individual and Team Championships. The men’s team used the homecourt advantage in 2006 as the Bulldogs claimed the 2006 MVC championship.

The Bulldogs made their debut on new outdoor tennis courts this past fall hosting the Drake Fall Invitational.
