The book is the catalogue of the group show, curated by Éric de Chassey at the Académie de France à Rome, from June 11 to September 14, 2014.
The exhibition shows three periods in the career of four artists: the Italian Fabio Mauri, the American Marcia Hafif, the French Martin Barré and the Swiss Olivier Mosset. With their research, they embody the developments of the complex question of the end of painting, that the artists know from the beginning of abstraction in early XX century.
