The note was written 50 years ago and offered an unknown drummer an audition. * * * A trailer for W.E., a 2012 semi-historical romantic drama directed by Bridgehampton superstar Madonna, hit the internet last week. The film tells the story of King Edward VIII, who abdicated his throne to marry twicedivorced American Wallis Simpson. * * * Hamptonites Martha Stewart and Marcie Bloom, co-founder of Sony Pictures Classics, are among the prominent women who will receive the New York Women in Film & Television’s  prestigious Muse Award for Vision and Achievement at the organization’s annual luncheon at the New York Hilton on December 7. Also slated to be honored are Clare Danes, Christine Baranski and Nadine Schramm. * * * Mitchell Kaplan, who owns Books and Books in Westhampton, received the Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community at the National Book Award ceremony in New York. * * * On December 5, Baby Buggy Founder Jessica Seinfeld will be celebrating Baby Buggy’s 10th birthday at Avery Fisher Hall Center with a stellar group of friends and family. Hosted by George Stephanopoulos, the evening will feature comedy performances by Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart and Colin Quinn.  Co-Chairs for the event include Ali Wentworth, Julianne Moore and Bart Freundlich, Naomi Watts, Desiree Gruber and Kyle Maclachlan. Tickets are still available at 212-867-1117.  * * * Bay Street Theatre announced that Josh Grisetti, who played David Kalowitz in last summer’s Enter Laughing, The Musical, has been named one of the finalists for the 2011 Clive Barnes Foundation Award. Grisetti’s hilarious and memorable performance received rave reviews.
