Please register for the most appropriate classes, based on the descriptions. Students will not be moved to another level.

Min/max: 6/10 Parent/Tot • Ages 6 month–3 years Basic water adjustment and swimming skills are introduced through songs and games. The primary focus of this class is to make your child feel comfortable in the water with you. Preschool • Ages 3–5 years We offer two levels of our popular preschool swim program. Parents are not in the water during these classes. Children will not be moved to Level 1 until they turn 6 years old. Preschool 1 This program is geared toward children who have no previous experience and/or are apprehensive in the water. Through songs and games our instructors introduce your child to the fun world of swimming. Preschool 2 This program is best suited to children who have previous swimming experience and have no fear of the water. Basic swimming skills are incorporated through songs and games, and Level 1 skills are introduced. Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills Level 1 helps students feel comfortable in the water using basic swimming and water safety skills. Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills This class introduces the basics of swimming including floating without support, combined arm and leg action, and forward motion. Level 3: Stroke Development Building on the basics from Level 2, students learn coordination of the front and back crawl, introduction to butterfly, treading water, and beginning head first entry. Level 4: Stroke Improvement Level 4 helps to develop confidence in the strokes learned in previous levels, improve strokes, and increase endurance. Basics of turning at the wall are introduced. Level 5: Stroke Refinement Participants refine their performance of all the stokes—front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke—and increase their distance. Flip turns on the front and back are introduced.

Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency In this level, swimmers continue to refine all six strokes so students swim them with ease, efficiency, power, and smoothness over greater distances. Semi-Private Swim Lessons Does your swimmer need a little extra help moving on the next level, or do they prefer working in a small group environment? Why not give semi-private lessons a try? ––––––Music Lessons–––––– proudly presents

The Music Man Book by Meredith Willson Music and Lyrics by Meredith Willson Based on a story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey Directed by: Ken Pruess Musical Direction by: Kedrick Parham Produced by: Wendy Kaplan An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize - this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. This award-winning, critically acclaimed Broadway classic is an all-American institution, thanks to is quirky characters, charmingly predictable dramatic situations, and one-of-a-kind, nostalgic score of rousing marches, barbershop quartets and sentimental ballads which have become popular standards. By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, THE MUSIC MAN is family entertainment at its best.

If You Love Us, Don’t Feed Us!

Darling ducklings and goslings quickly grow to full-size, hungry adults. Over-population causes overcrowding with a shortage of food and space. Bread crumbs and popcorn are NOT good wildlife food. If you feed them, these birds lose their food foraging instincts as well as the need to migrate. In consideration of the balance of nature, PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE. Feeding may be fun, but it can be deadly.

Alcohol is prohibited in Lake Park.

Tree of Life Program Our Tree of Life program is a wonderful way for people, businesses, and organizations to commemorate an individual, group or special event by having a tree planted in one of the district’s many parks. This program enhances the environment, encourages community involvement, and beautifies our neighborhood parks. Included with every tree is a golden leaf, inscribed with your personal message and permanently displayed on one of the striking Tree of Life sculptures in the Administrative & Leisure Center or Prairie Lakes Community Center. The Tree of Life program fee is $300, which includes a 20-year tree replacement guarantee. A personalized cast bronze plaque is available, for display at the base of your memorial tree, for $275. The deadline to order for spring planting is April 1; fall planting is September 1. Please Note: Prairie Lakes Park, Central Park, and Lake Park are our most popular locations for memorials. Tree planting is limited at these parks and we may not be able to accommodate your request. However, our program does include the adoption of existing trees, as well as park benches and other site amenities, that may be suitable for your memorial. Memorial Park Bench Program. These beautiful benches make a lasting contribution to the enjoyment of a park. The cost, which includes a personalized engraved plate on the backrest, is $650.
