The Colorado PGA Foundation's #1 priority is to help grow the game of golf and make a positive impact in the lives of others through this great game. Colorado PGA Professionals do these things through the Colorado Section PGA Golf in Schools Program, Growth of the Game Grants, and College Scholarships. For 2012 the Colorado PGA Foundation has already funded $25,000.00 in Growth of the Game Grants, $25,000.00 in College Scholarships and are funding the Golf in Schools Program to the tune of $100,000.00 (in only it's second year, the Golf in Schools Program is now in over 50 schools and has reached 19,000 students). In addition to all of the above the Colorado PGA Foundation supports the Military through the Colorado PGA Annual VA Hospital Visit on Valentine’s Day and Fort Carson Tournament for the Troops in July. All these programs along with several more bring our Colorado PGA Foundation giving to a little over $175,000.00 for 2012.

For the 2nd year in a row, one of the largest fund-raising events for the Colorado PGA Foundation was held on June 8th & 9th. The Foundation was the beneficiary of the 2012 U.S. Corporate Cup presented by Colorado AvidGolfer at Red Sky Ranch in Vail where 40 teams representing CEO's of prominent businesses in Colorado were playing golf. Thanks to the generosity and 4-some donations of our Colorado PGA golf facilities, partners and supporters, the silent auction and event raised almost $20,000 for the Colorado PGA Foundation and the Colorado Section PGA Golf in Schools Program.

On July 31st the Colorado PGA Foundation will be hosting the Foundation Pro Am on the Eisenhower Golf Club's Blue Course at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The entry fees, silent auction and activity proceeds benefit the Foundation.

Colorado PGA Foundation does great things to support our PGA Professionals in growing the game of golf here in Colorado and making a positive impact in the lives of others through the game of golf. Thanks to all supporters for your generosity. If you would like to make a monetary contribution to the Colorado PGA Foundation or donate an item for the silent auction fundraiser, please contact 303-681-0742,

PGA PROFESSIONALS GOLF ON JULY 18 WITH FORT CARSON SOLDIERS Excerpts from letter to Colorado PGA Members from Eddie Ainsworth, PGA, Executive Director/CEO We can never do enough for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines for their sacrifices. We as PGA Professionals can bring so much joy to these individuals by just playing a simple round of golf with them and saying thanks. That is why Wednesday, July 18, 11:30am-6pm, at Fort Carson we honor our troops. The Fort Carson event at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course cost PGA Professionals absolutely nothing but a little time. It is not too much to ask to give a little time to someone who is willing to lay down their life for us! People that make a positive difference in the lives of others are my heroes. This not only includes the men and women who wear our country's uniform, it also includes our many Colorado PGA Professionals who are doing great things across our Section to make a positive difference. Special thanks to supporting partner Golden Corral of Colorado Springs for providing lunch for the soldiers, July 18.

THOUSANDS OF YMCA KIDS LEARN GOLF, JUNE 19-21 For the 4th year in a row, PGA Professionals volunteered to teach thousands of YMCA kids from all over Denver, June 19-21 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Field in Denver. Introducing the next generation to golf, PGA instructors used Birdie Ball equipment to make the game fun for these young girls and boys. Special thanks to John Breaker and Paul Olson from Birdie Ball for coordinating and supporting the event. BirdieBall, ph 303-432-3333,,
