Message from Our Board & HQ Dear Sisters, On behalf of the National Board of Directors and Headquarters Staff, we would like to welcome you to Convention XII in Atlanta, Georgia! This is our 15th anniversary, a milestone year for us that only comes around once in a blue moon. We would like to give special thanks to our Director of Events, Stephenie Lai, the Convention Committee members, and all of our chapter members and alumnae who came from near and far to join us in this historic celebration. Since our inception in 1998, our sorority has undergone tremendous growth and improvement. We should all be very proud of ourselves and our accomplishments. It is because of each individual sister that our sorority is what it is today. We will continue to work together to uplift each other and become the dedicated female leaders that we are all meant to be. To help in our continual improvement, we have enlisted the help of Karyn Nishimura Sneath, CEO of Npower, and a sorority woman herself. We hope that you will find her workshop invigorating and gain tools to help your chapter be the best it can be. Be attentive, take notes, and share with others what you will learn this weekend. Don’t forget to also use the official #DFLConvention2013 hashtag in social media to let others know about your weekend! The most important thing to keep in mind is that Delta Phi Lambda has one of the strongest sisterhoods in the nation. Built upon strong foundations from our seven virtues, we push each other to be better women and leaders. Just remember that if you have a concern, big or small, BOD is here to listen and help. As we progress through the weekend, we encourage you to talk with BOD members so that we may better serve you and your chapters. We look forward to a very productive and sisterhood-filled weekend and hope you will don our colors to celebrate our 15 year anniversary that comes but ‘Once in a Navy Blue Moon’! Message from Our Director of Events Hello Sorors! On behalf of the Convention Planning Committee, welcome to Atlanta! I hope you are all excited for a fun filled Convention weekend to celebrate our 15 year anniversary! The sorority has come a long way since 1998. I hope that during this Convention, you are able to reflect on the past, as well as build for the next 15 years and beyond. As I reflect on my undergraduate years, I remember Convention as being one of the best times of the year. It was always something to look forward to. As a neophyte going to my first Convention, I was so overwhelmed with the amount of love that poured into the room as more and more sisters arrived, reuniting with each other after months and months. As I grew older, going to Convention was a way for me to connect with new sisters and develop professionally. When there are that many sisters congregated in one place for an entire weekend, there is no telling what kind of crazy memories you will be making. I hope you all leave Atlanta with as many crazy memories as you can remember! During this past year serving as your Director of Events, I really wanted to focus on utilizing the feedback that was given to me after last year’s Convention. We hope that you see how much of an impact your suggestions have made on this year’s planning efforts. We know that not everyone will be happy with every single detail, but we hope that you will see that we have included more sisterhood events, an alumna specific track, and workshops geared more towards personal growth and development. Your opinions matter! So please, take note of your time here so that you can accurately share your thoughts with us through the post-Convention survey. Lastly, I would like to give a big shout out to my Convention Planning Committee, especially my right hand woman and line sister, Amanda Supratanapongse. I would have been so lost without their consistent help and support. Enjoy Convention 2013 here in Atlanta, GA and remember that an everlasting sisterhood like Delta Phi Lambda only comes around Once in a Navy Blue Moon... In Everlasting Sisterhood, Stephenie Lai Director of Events

Alumnae Sponsorships This year, alumnae sisters were given the opportunity to provide sponsorships for Convention. In doing so, they were able to provide a donation that would go towards the operational costs. Please take a moment to see some of our alums that donated and their messages to you!

To help keep you connected with each other, we’ve made an official hashtag for this weekend. Feel free to use it and tag as many sisters as you can!
