The Worship of Father, Son & Holy Spirit June 26, 2011 The Lord’s Day
Hymn of Praise
Song of Assembly1 Brown/Riley
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord We will wait upon the Lord We will wait upon the Lord Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord We will wait upon the Lord We will wait upon the Lord
O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free; Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me. Underneath me, all around me, is the current of Your love; Leading onward, leading homeward, to Your glorious rest above. Oh the deep, deep love, all I need and trust Is the deep, deep love of Jesus.
Welcome and Preparation for Worship “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” - Jesus (John 6:44) “We trample the blood of the Son of God underfoot if we think we are forgiven because we are sorry for our sins. The only reason for the forgiveness of our sins by God, and the infinite depth of His promise to forget them, is the death of Jesus Christ. Our repentance is merely the result of our personal realization of the atonement by the Cross of Christ, which He has provided for us. No matter who or what we are, God restores us to right standing with Himself only by means of the death of Jesus Christ.” - Oswald Chambers in My Utmost for His Highest
Summoned by the King
O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Spread His praise from shore to shore; How He came to pay our ransom, through the saving cross He bore; How He watches o‟er His loved ones, those He died to make His own; How for them He‟s interceding, pleading now before the throne. O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Far surpassing all the rest: It‟s an ocean full of blessing, in the midst of every test. O the deep, deep love of Jesus! Mighty Savior, precious Friend; You will bring us home to glory, where Your love will never end.
Forgiven by the King Call to Confession of Sin
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Prayer of Adoration & Praise
All songs used by permission or covered under CCLI license # 391165. We believe that God always initiates with sinners, so we begin worship with his invitation and command to us to gather in His name.
Worship with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs Tomlin
Water You turned into wine Opened the eyes of the blind There‟s no one like You None like You Into the darkness You shine Out of the ashes we rise There‟s no one like You None like You
Elect from every nation, yet one o‟er all the earth. Her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses, with ev‟ry grace endued.
O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
You‟re the defender of the weak You comfort those in need You lift us up on wings like eagles

You are the everlasting God The everlasting God You do not faint, You won‟t grow weary
The Church’s One Foundation The church‟s one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord: She is his new creation by water and the Word; From heav‟n he came and sought her to be his holy bride; With his own blood he bought her and for her life he died.
Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One, And mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won; O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we, Like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.
Our God You reign forever Our hope our strong Deliv‟rer

You Are Worthy of My Praise Ephesians 4:22-24
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Corporate Confession of Sin You welcome us into your house, but we are completely unworthy. Righteous Lord, hear the weight of our hearts, for we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. Instead of seeking justice for the widow, the orphan, and the immigrant in our midst, we have sought to please ourselves. We confess that we have forsaken your holy law. We confess that we are inward focused and self-absorbed. Forgive us Lord God and have mercy upon us. Teach us to loathe our sin and to turn from it. Deepen in our hearts a sense of awe for the gospel that welcomes us home again and again....time for silent confession... Amen!
I will give You all my worship, I will give You all my praise. You alone I long to worship, You alone are worthy of my praise. I will worship (repeat), with all of my heart (repeat); I will praise you (repeat), with all of my strength. (repeat) I will seek you (repeat), all of my days; (repeat) And I will follow (repeat), follow all of Your ways (repeat). I will bow down (repeat), and hail You as King (repeat); I will serve you (repeat), give You everything (repeat). I will lift up (repeat), my eyes to Your throne (repeat); And I will trust You (repeat), I will trust You alone (repeat).
Before the Throne of God Above

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds
Before the throne of God above, I have a strong, a perfect plea, A great High Priest whose name is “Love,” Whoever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart; I know that while in heav'n He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart. No tongue can bid me thence depart.
It makes the wounded spirit whole, and calms the troubled breast; „Tis manna to the hungry soul, and to the weary rest. Dear Name! The rock on which I build, my shield and hiding place, My never-failing treas‟ry filled with boundless stores of grace. Jesus, my Shepherd, Brother, Friend, my Prophet, Priest, and King, My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End, accept the praise I bring.
When Satan tempts me to despair, And tells me of the guilt within, Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end to all my sin. Because the sinless Savior died, My sinful soul is counted free; For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on him and pardon me. To look on him and pardon me.
Blessed by the King Benediction4
“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
My Chains Are Gone
Behold him there! The risen Lamb, My perfect, spotless Righteousness, The great unchangeable I AM, The King of glory and of grace! One with Himself I cannot die, My soul is purchased by His blood; My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ, my Savior and my God. With Christ, my Savior and my God.
Prayers of Thanksgiving & Petition
How sweet the name of Jesus sounds in a believer‟s ear! It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds, and drives away his fear.
My chains are gone, I‟ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me, And like a flood His mercy reigns; Unending love, amazing grace.

“Perfectly Misrepresented” John 17:6-11
Invited by the King The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper Communion, also called The Lord‟s Supper or Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. We invite all committed followers of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament: those who are baptized members of a congregation that proclaims the gospel, who are at peace with God and their neighbor, and who seek strength to live in a deeper communion with Jesus. If you are not a Christian, or you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope that this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with his people, the Church.
4, 5, & 6 year-old children may be dismissed before the sermon to Godly Play in room 173.
Just as God called us into His presence at the beginning, so now He commands His blessing upon us as we depart. We look up and extend our hands in a posture of thanksgiving as we receive this great gift. Our final response to God‟s assurance of His peace and presence upon those who are in Christ is a chorus of joyful song.
