Welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus! If you are a guest with us, please be sure to sign our Registry when it is passed before the service. Children are welcome in our worship. We have a nursery available for children 3 and under. Children 4 to 6 years of age may be dismissed to Godly Play prior to the sermon. Song of Assembly1 Come, Worship the Lord

Come, worship the Lord for we are His people, The flock that He shepherds. Alleluia!

All hail the pow‟r of Jesus‟ name! Let angels prostrate fall; let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, And crown Him Lord of all! Let ev‟ry kindred, ev‟ry tribe, On this terrestrial ball, on this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, And crown Him Lord of all!

Call to Confession of Sin

I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things. Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it. - Isaiah 45:4-8

Corporate Confession of Sin

Carol Godwin

Summoned by the King Psalm 64:10; Isaiah 61:10

Pastor: Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult! People: I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness!

Prayer of Adoration & Praise

All songs used by permission or covered under CCLI license # 391165. We believe that God always initiates with sinners, so we begin worship with his invitation and command to us to gather in His name. 2

Father, Long Before Creation

Though the world may change its fashion, yet our God is e‟er the same; His compassion and His covenant, through all ages will remain. God‟s own children, God‟s own children, must forever praise His name. God‟s compassion is my story, is my boasting all the day; Mercy free and never failing, moves my will, directs my way. God so loved us, God so loved us, that His only Son He gave.

Acts 3:19,20

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus.

Loving Father now before Thee, we will ever praise Thy love, And our songs will sound unceasing, „til we reach our home above, Giving glory, giving glory, to our God and to the Lamb Giving glory, giving glory, to our God and to the Lamb.

Eternal Father, You are good beyond all thought, but we are vile, wretched, miserable, blind; our lips are ready to confess, but our hearts are slow to feel and our ways reluctant to amend. We bring our souls to you. Break them, wound them, bend them, mold them. Unmask to us sin’s deformity, that we may hate it, abhor it, flee from it. As rebels we have misused our strength, and served the foul adversary of your kingdom. Give us grace to bewail our senseless folly; grant us to know that the way of transgression is hard; that evil paths are wretched paths; that to depart from you is to lose all good. We have seen the purity and beauty of your perfect law, the happiness of those in whose hearts it reigns, the calm dignity of the walk to which it calls; yet daily we violate and condemn its precepts. All these sins we mourn, lament, and for them cry, “Pardon.” Work in us more profound and abiding repentance; give us the fullness of a godly grief which is ever powerful, and ever confident; grant that our repentance will enable us to see more clearly the glory and brightness of the cross of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray ...Silent and Personalized Confession of Sin... Amen!

How Great Is Our God

The splendor of the King, clothed in majesty Let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoice He wraps Himself in light, and darkness tries to hide And trembles at His voice, and trembles at His voice How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God, and all will see how great How great is our God And age to age He stands, and time is in His hands Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End The Godhead three in one, Father Spirit Son The Lion and the Lamb, the Lion and the Lamb Name above all names Worthy of all praise My heart will sing How great is our God

Words of Grace Brothers and sisters, hear the Good News: Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, And Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. (Romans 8:34)

Father, long before creation, Thou had‟st chosen us in love, And that love so deep, so moving, draws us close to Christ above. Still it keeps us, still it keeps us, firmly fixed in Christ alone.

Forgiven by the King

For as experience shows, that except we are supported by God‟s hands, we are soon overwhelmed by innumerable evils, Paul reminds us, that though we are in every respect weak, and various infirmities threaten our fall, there is yet sufficient protection in God‟s Spirit to preserve us from falling, and to keep us from being overwhelmed by any mass of evils. - John Calvin

Welcome and Preparation for Worship

Call to Worship2

If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation. The old has passed away; everything has become new! All this is from God Who has reconciled us to himself through Christ. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, So that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:17-18a,21) Believe the good news of the Gospel: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

O that with yonder sacred throng, We at his feet may fall, we at his feet may fall! We‟ll join the everlasting song, And crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, And crown Him Lord of all!

The Lord is God the mighty God, The great King o‟er all other gods. He holds in His hands the depths of the earth And the highest mountains as well. He made the sea, it belongs to Him The dry land too, was formed by His hand.

Report of the Living Church

Prayers of Thanksgiving & Petition Offering

Elder Emory Ellis

Taught by the King Sermon3

On the hillside you will be delivered, At the foot of the cross, justified. And your spirit restored by the river that pours from our blessed Savior‟s side. Ah, you carried the sin of mankind on Your back, And the sky went black.

Pastor Tommy Lee Series: “Come to me… and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)

LXXXIV. The King of the Universe Requests Your Presence Matthew 21: 33-46 Hymn of Response

How Sweet and Awesome Is the Place

How sweet and awesome is the place with Christ within the doors, While everlasting love displays the choicest of her stores. While all our hearts and all our songs join to admire the feast, Each of us cries, with thankful tongue, “Lord, why was I a guest?”

Blessed by the King Benediction4

Philippians 4:7

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus!

My Chains Are Gone

“Why was I made to hear your voice, and enter while there‟s room, When thousand make a wretched choice, and rather starve than come?”

My chains are gone, I‟ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me, And like a flood His mercy reigns; Unending love, amazing grace.

„Twas the same love that spread the feast and that sweetly drew us in; Else we had still refused to taste, and perished in our sin. Pity the nations, O our God, constrain the earth to come; Send Thy victorious Word abroad, and bring the strangers home. We long to see Thy churches full, that all the chosen race, May with one voice and heart and soul, sing Thy redeeming grace.

Invited by the King The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper Communion, also called The Lord‟s Supper or Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. We invite all committed followers of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament: those who are baptized members of a congregation that proclaims the gospel, who are at peace with God and their neighbor, and who seek strength to live in a deeper communion with Jesus. If you are not a Christian, or you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope that this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with his people, the Church.

Beautiful Scandalous Night

Go on up to the mountain of mercy To the crimson perpetual tide; Kneel down on the shore, be thirsty no more. Go under and be purified; Follow Christ to the holy mountain. Sinner, sorry and wrecked by the fall, Cleanse your heart and your soul in the fountain that flows For you and for me and for all. At the wonderful, tragic, mysterious tree, On that beautiful, scandalous night you and me, Were atoned by His blood and forever washed white, On that beautiful scandalous night. 3

4, 5, & 6 year-old children may be dismissed before the sermon to Godly Play in room 173.

Just as God called us into His presence at the beginning, so now He commands His blessing upon us as we depart. We look up and extend our hands in a posture of thanksgiving as we receive this great gift. Our final response to God‟s assurance of His peace and presence upon those who are in Christ is a chorus of joyful song.
