The Worship of God
Leader: The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

People: Who is this King of glory?
Welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus! If you are a guest with us, please be sure to sign our Registry when it is passed during the service. Children are welcome in our worship. We have a nursery available for children 3 and under. Children 4 to 6 years of age may be dismissed to Godly Play prior to the sermon. Thank you for joining us today and may the Lord richly bless you.
Song of Assembly1 Craig Pitman
Ruler of the nations, You alone are God, O Lord. Weak and worthless is our praise, give us grace to praise You more. Ruler of the nations, how Your holiness burns so bright. If you counted all our sins, who could stand before Your sight? Only in Jesus, only in Jesus, only in Jesus we stand. Ruler of the nations, Your dear Son our hearts adore. Jesus bore Your righteous wrath, so we would bear Your wrath no more. Ruler of the nations, be the ruler of my heart. Jesus, prophet, priest and king, be my Lord, my all in all.
Welcome and Preparation for Worship From the Great Missionary to India, William Carey: “Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.” After hearing an account of the spiritual needs of India, the secretary of the meeting remarked: “There is a gold mine in India, but it seems almost as deep as the center of the earth. Who will venture to explore it?” “I will venture to go down,” said Carey, “but remember that you must hold the ropes.” “I feel it my duty to plod on while daylight last.” Shortly before his death, Carey said to a friend: “You have been saying much about Dr. Carey and his work. When I am gone, say nothing about Dr. Carey; speak about Dr. Carey’s Saviour.” From the Holy Scriptures: But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ. (2 Corinthians, chapter 2)

Waft it on the rolling tide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Tell to sinners far and wide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Sing, ye islands of the sea; echo back, ye ocean caves; Earth shall keep her jubilee: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Prayer of Adoration & Praise Hymn of Praise Christ Shall Have Dominion
Ruler of the Nations
All: The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory!
We Have Heard the Joyful Sound We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Bear the news to ev’ry land, climb the steeps and cross the waves, Onward! ’tis our Lord’s command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Christ shall have dominion over land and sea, Earth’s remotest regions shall his empire be; They that wilds inhabit shall their worship bring, Kings shall render tribute, nations serve our King. Christ shall have dominion over land and sea, Earth’s remotest regions shall his empire be. Ever and forever shall his name endure, Long as suns continue it shall stand secure; And in him forever all men shall be blest, And all nations hail him King of kings confessed. Responsive Readings from Genesis, Exodus, Isaiah, Matthew, Acts, & Revelation Leader: Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” People: Israel encamped before the mountain, while Moses went up to God. The Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel: You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” Leader: It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. People: And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Leader: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. People: After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Leader: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Give the winds a mighty voice, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Let the nations now rejoice — Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Shout salvation full and free, highest hills and deepest caves; This our song of victory — Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
God Forgives His People Their Sins We Confess Our Sin Almighty God, you are generous in abundance. You have given to us gifts that we do not deserve. You have called us from death to life, granted us forgiveness through the death and resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, given us the Holy Spirit, and made us your children. You have provided for us richly in both spiritual things and material things. Yet, we have failed to be thankful and to rejoice in your goodness. We have ignored you and neglected to give you the praise that is due your name. Restore in us eyes that see your hand at work for good in all areas of our life. Enable us to realize that we have nothing that has not been given to us by you. And deepen our gratitude that we might serve you with undivided and joyful hearts. …Silent and Personalized Confession of Sin… Amen!
Words of Assurance
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Worship with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder Let us love and sing and wonder, Let us praise the Savior’s name. He has hushed the law’s loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame. He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has brought us nigh to God. Let us love the Lord Who bought us, Pitied us when enemies, Called us by His grace and taught us, Gave us ears and gave us eyes. He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He presents our souls to God. Let us praise and join the chorus Of the saints enthroned on high. Here they trusted Him before us, Now their praises fill the sky. Thou hast washed us with Thy blood, Thou hast washed us with Thy blood, Thou hast washed us with Thy blood, Thou are worthy Lamb of God.
The Gospel Is True
We have a grace that’s amazing; a free gift to know Him by faith, To live for His praise and long for the day, when we see Him face to face. Thank you, Jesus, Oh how we worship You. Thank You, Jesus. Hallelujah, the gospel is true. Hallelujah, the gospel is true.
Elder Greg Smith
In every land, by every tongue, Let our Redeemer’s name be sung.
God Speaks to His People Through His Word Sermon3
Eternal are Your mercies Lord, Eternal truth attends Your Word. Your praise will sound from shore to shore, Till suns shall rise and set no more.
from Romans 15:13
Leader: As you prepare to leave this place... Go in peace, in the knowledge of God's power, Go in confidence, in the knowledge of God's strength, Go in joy, in the knowledge of God's love! People: Let us go forth in the name of Christ. Let us go forth into the world, Rejoicing in the power of the Spirit. Thanks be to God!
We have been crucified with Him, buried and risen to life. Now justified, soon glorified, we shall be made like Christ.

God Sends His People Out with Great Blessing
We have a hope that is living and love that never will end. We have a God who’s forgiven us while we were yet in sin.

God Invites His People to His Table The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper Communion, also called The Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. We invite all committed followers of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament: those who are baptized members of a congregation that proclaims the gospel, who are at peace with God and their neighbor, and who seek strength to live in a deeper communion with Jesus. If you are not a Christian, or you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope that this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with his people, the Church.

4, 5, & 6 year-old children may be dismissed before the sermon to Godly Play in room 173.
Just as God called us into His presence at the beginning, so now He commands His blessing upon us as we depart. We look up and extend our hands in a posture of thanksgiving as we receive this great gift. Our final response to God’s assurance of His peace and presence upon those who are in Christ is a chorus of joyful song.
