Worship with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs

Welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus! If you are a guest with us, please be sure to sign our Registry when it is passed during the service. Children are welcome in our worship. We have a nursery available for children 3 and under. Children not yet in kindergarten will be dismissed prior to the sermon. Thank you for joining us today and may the Lord richly bless you.

Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb, Your loosened tongues employ; Ye blind, behold your Savior come; And leap, ye lame, for joy.

Confession of Faith

Almighty King

from Psalm 62

Welcome and Preparation for Worship

Leader: Christians, what do you believe?

When we realize the truth of God’s presence with us, certain things should follow in our lives, as they did in Moses’ life. We should be filled with a new humility, because we have met God. We should be encouraged by a fresh sense of security – we have met God and lived; what else is there to fear? We should be filled with undying gratitude, that God the Lord has worked on our behalf!

People: My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God: He is my mighty rock and my refuge.

Is this the God you know? And is this the way you know him? When you do, nothing else matters. Or better, everything else begins to fit into its proper place in the service of God. – Sinclair Ferguson

Call to Worship1

Psalm 100:1-2

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!

Hymn of Praise2 O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing

Wesley

O for a thousand tongues to sing, My great Redeemer’s praise, The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of His grace. My gracious Master and my God, Assist me to proclaim, To spread thro’all the earth abroad, The honors of Thy name. Jesus! the Name that charms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease, Tis music in the sinner’s ears, Tis life and health and peace.

He speaks and listening to His voice, New life the dead receive; The mournful, broken hearts rejoice; The humble poor believe.

Sing Praise, sing praise To the Almighty King to the Almighty King (x2)

O Lord, You have been good, You have been faithful to all generations. O Lord, Your steadfast love and tender mercy Have been our salvation.

I will trust in You always I will live in Your Light I’ll rejoice in Your goodness Almighty King

For by Your hand we have been fed, And by Your Spirit we have been led. O Lord, You have been good, You have been faithful To all generations. For by Your hand we have been fed, And by Your Spirit we have been led. O Lord, Almighty God, Father unchanging, upright and holy. O Lord, You have been good, You have been faithful, You have been good.

There is a Redeemer, Jesus, God’s own Son; Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Holy One.

There Is a Redeemer

Jesus, my Redeemer, Name above all names; Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, hope for sinners slain.

1 John 2:9-11

When I stand in glory, I will see His face; And there I’ll serve my King forever in that holy place.

Open the Eyes of My Heart

Baloche

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart, I want to see You, I want to see You.

Psalm 51:1-4

Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out our transgression. Wash away all our iniquity and cleanse us from our sin. For we know our transgressions, and our sin is always before us. Against You, You only have we sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are proved right when You speak and justified when You judge.

To see You high and lifted up shining in the light of Your glory, Pour out Your power and love as we sing, “Holy, holy, holy.” Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, I want to see You.

Corporate Prayer Assurance of Pardon in Christ

Green

Thank You, oh my Father For giving us Your Son, And leaving Your Spirit ’til The work on earth is done.

Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Corporate Confession of Sin He breaks the power of reigning sin, He sets the prisoner free; His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me.

We will trust in You always We will live in Your Light We rejoice in Your goodness Almighty King

Leader: Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper

Prayers of Meditation for Those Not Communing

A Word About Communion – The bread and juice you see on the Communion table may not look like much to the casual observer. In fact, it is merely bread and juice. What makes this meal special is that the Lord Jesus Christ is spiritually present in a unique way. This sacrament is not something to be taken lightly but neither is it a time to be somber; rather, we should be filled with thankfulness and joy. Our Savior, out of His great mercy, bids His people to come to this meal. If you are a member of a church who embraces the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are at peace with your fellow Christians, we welcome you to this table. Come and consider with us our Lord’s body and shed blood symbolized in the bread and juice. Rejoice with us in our union with Him and with each other as His Covenant people. For those not taking Communion today, we encourage you to carefully think on the prayers found in the section entitled: “Prayers for Those Not Communing”, and we look forward to the day when you may join us in this meal.

In Christ Alone

Prayer of Belief Heavenly Father, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever before believed, but, through Your Son Jesus, I can be more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You that He lived the life I should have lived, and paid the debt and punishment I owed. Receive me now for His sake. I turn from my sins and receive Him as Savior. Amen.

Townend

In Christ Alone my hope is found, He is my strength, my light, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! – Who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save. Till on that cross, as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied, My every sin on Him was laid – Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world in darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave he rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine – Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me; From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

Prayer for Those Searching for Truth Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open to me the reality of who you are. Give me an understanding of you that is coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life that you promise. Amen.

Just as God has the first word in worship, he also has the last word. For those who are in Christ Jesus, these are always words of blessing. We look up and extend our hands out in a posture of receiving the blessing of God.

Prayer for Those Struggling with Sin Lord Jesus, grant that I may see in you the fulfillment of all my need, and may turn from every false satisfaction to feed on you, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so closely, and run with perseverance the race set before me, looking to you, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Amen.

Prayer of Commitment Lord Jesus, you have called us to follow you in baptism and in a life of committed discipleship in your church. Grant that I may take the necessary steps to be one with your people, and live in the fullness of your Spirit. Amen.
