81 Mallory Torlach Community Art Artist in Residence Exhibitor Mallory Torlach has been selected as the 2019 City of Guelph Artist in Residence and will be showcasing her #GuelphMovesMe project. Promoting physical fitness on Guelph’s trails through an outdoor art exhibition, the artist will be on hand to talk to visitors about how they can be involved in this community endeavour.

Play with Clay, Guelph Public Library, and Guelph School of Art will take over the square with paint, bubbles and sculpture, and there’s an ‘instrument petting zoo’ from the Suzuki String School of Guelph. Artist Meredith Blackmore will be on hand to guide kids to play with colour and explore image-making and word play. Wander across to Old Quebec Street Shoppes with your allowance to check out the Mini Makers Market. Organized by The Children’s Art Factory, young entrepreneurs will be selling their handmade wares from cute market stalls.

The Children’s Arts Festival collective will inspire creativity in St George’s Square with a full day of interactive programs, all set within a space that will be designed with your child’s inner artist in mind. The festival aims to enable children to discover, enjoy and celebrate the arts – as audience, learners and as creators of their own art.

Enjoy a free, interactive and informal walking tour of curated art exhibitions in Downtown Guelph.
New for 2019
New for this year, art lovers can enjoy an interactive and informal walking tour of a variety of curated exhibitions at venues in the downtown core. These free tours will be led by experienced guides, and last around 25 minutes each.
When & where to sign up
Sign up starts at 10am at the Guelph Arts Council Information Booth in the RBC lot (look for the blue tent). This booth also acts as the starting point for the tours, which leave at 12pm, 12.45pm and 1pm. The 12pm tour will be fully accessible.
Venues
Each tour will visit three or four venues. These include Necessary Arts Company, Renann Isaacs Contemporary Art (RICA), 10C, Red Brick Cafe, the eBar, Guelph Creative Arts Association, Kloepfer Gallery, Gritt Gallery and more.
