Remove - LIV Summer Term 2018 Weekend Activities Programme
Dear Parents Looking back, the Lent term was a wonderfully busy one and hopefully, memorable for your daughter. Please take a look in this Summer Term booklet at our new feature, ‘Look back at Lent’ to see some images and quotes from trips that the girls enjoyed last term. I hope you have been able to see many of their exploits and adventures which we publish in our very own Co-Curricular Corner on the Downe House website (scan the QR code below to visit the site), a link to which is included each week in The Olive Branch. I am delighted to introduce within this booklet, the Summer Term programme that includes a range of exciting and stimulating events and activities. This includes the Calshot residential trip for the Remove girls, a camping weekend at nearby Thirtover, Liquid leisure, Go-Karting and of course the surprise End of Year celebratory outing, to name but a few! The list of events in this booklet may be added to throughout the course of the term and Housestaff will advise girls as soon as the activity has been confirmed. To serve as a reminder, girls that are in House over the weekend will be expected to take part in the events. We have therefore strived to keep the cost of the majority of these activities down to a minimum; the cost of the events will be added to your School bill. Should you wish to book an Exeat and take your daughter off-site for the weekend, please use the separate Weekend Activities Form for this and return it to your Housemistress in time for the start of the Summer Term. I would be delighted to gain feedback from you on the existing programme offered to the Lower School to enable the CCA team to reflect and consider what we can do to provide a meaningful programme of activities that the girls look forward to and benefit from. The CCA team look forward to meeting many of you over Founder’s weekend, where of course, many of the girls will be involved in the Dance Showcase, to bring down the curtain on a wonderful year of Co-Curricular activities at Downe House. Wishing you all a successful Summer Term ahead!

Look back at Lent ‘Dick Whittington’ was a really impressive show, especially the remarkable set! There were lots of laughs and of course the ice cream in the interval was great! Maddy and Sara, LIV, Hill
On Sunday we went to Bristol to watch The Little Match Girl. I thought it was a touching performance and it was amazing to see how the performer made the little match girl walk by herself even though she was a puppet. It was clever how they merged three different fairy tale stories together into one show. Overall, I thought it was a fun outing and we all really enjoyed it! Izzy, Remove, Hermitage
