Merlo showcases innovation at BAUMA Merlo SpA’s tradition of innovation will once again be on display at BAUMA 2010 with the introduction of several new products at the company’s expanded display stand. For example, Merlo’s new ultra-compact P25.6 telehandler features a 2500kg lift capacity and a lift height of 6m. Though small, the 1.8m wide machine features a full-size with the same driver comfort and safety found in larger Merlo machines. A prototype for a new 5 tonne class heavy lift telehandler will also be on display. Formatted for the European market, this machine is designed to compete on even terms with the top end of US-style telehandlers with 5000 kg plus capacity. Maximum lift height will be close to 18m. Another prototype to be displayed is the Roto 60.24 MCSS, Merlo’s largest rotary telehandler since pioneering the concept in 1990. The Roto 60.24 MCSS will have a maximum lift height of 24m and maximum capacity of 6000kg. Merlo’s unique MCSS safety control system ensures

stable, safe operation in all aspects of Roto application. The new telehandler is powered by a 177HP NEF diesel, and travels at speeds up to 40 kph. The revolutionary co-drive electronic transmission system saves up to 30% in energy use. Merlo will also display a re-production example of a new 1.2 tonne payload Cingo M12 carrier, which will replace the current M10 model, and a 125kg capacity 9m working height platform to access confined spaces or where a wheeled platform cannot travel. There

will also be pre-production example of a new 14m platform, also fitted to a Cingo M12 carrier, and a new 1.6 tonne payload Cingo M16 carrier. Merlo also plans to show new, simplified MPR self-propelled access platform range, with lift heights up to 18m, platform capacities up to 1000kg, and a travel speed of up to 40 kph.
