Tante Marie's Cooking School

December 20, 2004 What a fun way to show of the colors of the holiday! While this may look like the now ubiquitous Cosmopolitan, the punch you’ll taste from the fruity/tart combo of pomegranate, lime, and orange will definitely tell you that this is something entirely new. This recipe makes one generous martini and can be multiplied many times to make a large pitcher of drinks. I like to combine all the ingredients in a large, chilled pitcher and have it out for my guests to shake and pour as they want them. Just leave a couple of cocktail shakers, a cocktail strainer, and a bucket of ice at the bar and your guests will have a great time playing bartender.

Tante Marie’s Holiday Pomegranate Martini Ingredients 1-1/2 ounces vodka 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice 1 ounce pomegranate juice (fresh squeezed or a store-bought brand such as POM Wonderful) 1/2 ounce simple syrup pomegranate seeds and lime twists for garnish

Instructions Place ingredients (except garnish) in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into martini glasses and serve, garnished with a few pomegranate seeds and a lime twist. Š Jodi Liano
