Environmental Design Experience Low Impact Development Project Gwinnett County [Georgia] Department of Water Resources January 2012 – May 2012 •As part of a team of 5, I carried out field research and designed various low impact development strategies to capture 95% of a 1-year rain event at the project site. •The final design exceeded functional and financial expectations, with estimated engineering, construction, operation, and maintenance costs 25% below the $1Million project budget. •The highly detailed design and cost analysis report is under consideration to receive federal funding from the EPA. •I personally transferred all of my own designs and the designs of my team members into AutoCAD.
Water Quality Assessment Piedmont Park Conservancy August 2011 – December 2011 •With one other team member, I collected water samples from target areas of Atlanta’s Piedmont Park and analyzed the conductivity, pH, turbidity, fecal coliform, and COD. •I assembled the findings of the assessment into an in-depth report and clearly presented the results to supervising Professional Engineers.
Professional Experience Corporate Quality & Safety Manager PenserSC, a Division of Suddath Global Logistics August 2012 – Present Accomplishments: •I brought the company’s Tier II Chemical Inventory program into compliance with EPA regulations. •I analyzed and implemented Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans for multiple facilities, which included spill containment, contingency plans for accidental release of stored chemicals and mitigation measures for potential runoff pollutants. •I have successfully managed multiple food quality initiative projects in which I was required to balance rigid project requirements with budget limitations. Additional Responsibilities: •I created and analyzed GIS maps to support Risk Management objectives to assess the risk of potential flood and hurricane damage for existing and proposed project sites. •I manage all shipping exceptions and claims, analyzing and determining root causes for failure and implementing corrective and preventative action plans. •I manage and own all quality and safety programs in five facilities across the State of Florida, requiring remote management and occasional travel. •I conduct regular training sessions on safety and quality topics to refresh tenured employees and managers, as well as new hires.
