Careers you can get with an art degree Sometimes it seems like the gap between famous and starving artists is too large to breach – two extremes that are either super successful or not at all. However, there is a midway point that someone can meet in the middle by being neither famous nor starving. Here are a few of the creative and artistic careers that are consistently hiring.

Graphic Design If you are the type of person that is constantly doodling on the side of your notes in class you may have a future in graphic design. Any company or business that plans on being successful needs a graphic designer to be able to create marketing products for them. Their logo has to be timeless and represent everything the company or business is working for. It can be a difficult job to create something completely new out of nothing and businesses are willing to pay well for it if you have the necessary education and portfolio proving yourself worthy of the position.

Photography Great photographers do not need a good camera, but can take a great picture even on an old and nonprofessional camera. If you are the type of person that enjoys the challenge and does it frequently, you may be a good candidate to be hired as a professional photographer. More than half of photographers are self- employed, but there are many positions as photojournalists, or scientific and industrial photographers that you could get if you have a degree in the arts.

Multimedia Art This is a very specialized type of art that you cannot teach yourself. As the world of animation has grown, so has the technology that comes with it. While pursuing a degree in animation or multimedia art you will be taught how to use this technology and with practice you will be able to put together a portfolio of excellently executed multimedia art.

Interior Design Although they may not seem as famous or skilled as other artists, those that focus on interior design are just as talented. Mastering the art of good feng shui is difficult and requires lots of training. This is why home design and redesign reality shows are so popular these days. However, most interior designers choose to emphasize in decorating a certain type of room such as the bedroom or kitchen.

Teacher If you have a strong passion for art that you want to share with the world, you can start in the classroom. A lot of children don’t realize that they can enjoy or be good at art until a good teacher in their early years comes to show them. That may be where you learned it as well. However, in order to be employed by public or private schools, a degree in your specialty is required. These are just a few of the positions that offer decent salaries for those that choose to major in art. Of course, you should follow your heart and if that means getting a graphic arts degree in Logan, so be it. Photo Credit: fc04, designmagnifique
