(1888PressRelease) - Lake George, New York - Thirty-five years after the death of Elvis Presley, fans will be gathering, as they have since 2004, to celebrate his life and legacy at the 2012 LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival, May 31-June 3. Shawn Klush, 2007 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest winner, will headline the very popular Saturday evening show, "Elvis: 35 Years Later." Festival events will fill four complete days and will be held at various venues throughout the Lake George area, with most of the activities taking place at the Lake George Forum. The Opening Night Ceremony in Shepard Park is free to the public and begins at 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 31. Festival officials will preview the four-day celebration as fans start rockin' to the King's music. Following the ceremony, festival attendees and others will head to the Tiki Resort for "Interpreting Elvis." This special show features an all-star lineup of Elvis performers, each of whom will present his unique approach to the king's music. The Thursday night show will feature Cliff Wright, the festival's 2011 50's champion, and Robert Washington, the 2007 70's division winner. The Lake George Forum will be the focus of fun, music and dancing throughout Friday with the first round of the Elvis Tribute Artist Competition. Performances will continue for three days leading to the crowning of a winner during the afternoon of Sunday, June 3. The LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival 2012 champion also earns a spot in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held in Memphis, Tenn. during Elvis Week 2012. A packed house is expected at the Forum on Friday evening for the Tribute to Rock and Roll History Show. Jay Zanier, 2011 Grand Champion, will excite the audience with his tribute to Elvis, while many other outstanding rock and roll tribute artists will honor the music of Johnny Cash, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Roy Orbison and James Brown. The 2012 LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival will welcome Jerry Connelly for his first appearance performing the music of Gene Pitney. "This year's LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival features some of the most popular tribute artists of Elvis and other rock legends," said Jason Sherry, president of Sherry Management, LLC and festival director. "What has everyone very excited is that Shawn Klush, the top Elvis performer in the world, will be headlining Saturday's big show, Elvis: 35 Years Later."
