CONTENTS

Dollschino Magazine was founded in November 2020, and is motivated with a passion to do something positive for the Entertainment, Hair & Beauty, Small to Medium sized Businesses and the Music & Film Industry. We are doing things differently in the world of Magazines, and when you are featured, you really are featured, and the best part is that you do not have to be famous to appear on our front cover. Covid-19 has changed the face of Live Music, the Entertainment Industry, the Sports Industry and so many other live events, and has caused a slump in sales for businesses, causing many to close down, but with the power of the internet and social media, we aim to provide a platform in which sadness can be turned to, Excitement, Joy and Hope into the lives of those that appear in our Magazine. Included within the content, every 3 months, we like to select and offer one or two independent businesses the opportunity to share their business information, photo's and promotional details as an article in our Magazines, this will be non chargeable to those selected. Each business can gain extra promotion, as well as increased online social media presence and exposure to the public, which may then possibly help lead to additional sales, networking or collaboration opportunities. We are selling our Magazine at an affordable price, and with each Magazine purchased, you become part of the mission to put a smile on somebody's face, and who knows, the next person in our magazine could be you!!!

Q&A: GET TO KNOW AN INTERVIEW WITH TAYO OYEKOYA

Q.1) Multitalented Tayo Oyekoya, how and when did your career start? I started modelling at university when I was studying for a BA Honours Degree in Business Administration Q.2) You are an Actor, Model, Producer and Entrepreneur, if you had to choose just one, which profession do you enjoy the most? That is a very expansive question. I enjoy acting the most but also take joy in my business and productive pursuits Q.3) Who is your favourite Actor and Actress? Favourite Male Actor is ‘Marlon Brando’ and Favourite Female Actress is ‘Viola Davis’ Q.4) What two Actors would you love to do a movie with in the future, if the opportunity arose? ‘Denzel Washington’ and ‘Donnie Yen’ Q.5) Do you think it is easier or harder to become a successful Actor in the USA or in the UK? British drama has become extremely popular and with the rise of the streaming platforms, there’s a resurgence of UK productions, traditionally it’s been harder in the UK as there are fewer roles for men of colour,

FOUNDER

20

WSPA ‘WESTMINSTER SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS’ Founded In 1990 By It’s Principal Angie Whittle After years of teaching in several other schools, Angie gave birth to her children and independently started her own performing arts school. In order to get started, she needed pupil space in which to run her school, and was lucky enough to be able to negotiate the rental of a building by the name of ‘St Andrews Club’ for a few hours on Saturday’s. She had a wide variety of Teacher contacts from her professional work, and also from colleagues that used to attend her college, so getting the team together did not take long, and everyone was happy to join her vision and new venture. Angie advertised Open Days in her local newspaper’s and signed up to around 50 pupils at her launch the following year in January 1991, she was actually dashing off early on a Saturday morning, after setting the school up, to teach at a long standing teaching job based in Bromley, and then back to her own school.

ABOUT // ANGIE WHITTLE

The WSPA school building had lots of space and several rooms, so Angie was able to hit the ground running by providing multiple subjects concurrently each day. This was very convenient for both pupils, and more so for parents that had more than one child attending School on the same day. Things went so well with the school, so the Teachers decided after being open for 6 months, to put on a show called "Mini Cats" in July, which helped to show the students their enthusiasm, commitment and core intentions. Around this time, Angie had her 4th child who arrived in September...all that creativity was manifesting everywhere! Now 30 years later the school has grown even larger, and classes are available every day of the week currently on a after school basis. The range of subjects that they offer has also extended to include Gymnastics, Piano, and Hip Hop, along with the core subjects of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Drama and Musical Theatre.

21

Two of the teachers that started with Angie in the opening of the school, are still with her teaching at WSPA up until today, and now they also have an International teaching team with several professional backgrounds. There is a great sense of " family" community, and a feeling of belonging between all teachers and pupils. Westminster School Of Performing Arts, welcome all children to the school, you are not required to audition...they get to know you, discover your passions and talents, then support your dreams.

Covid-19 made the ‘WSPA’ welcoming routine quite tricky as Teachers, Parents and Children were restricted from physical contact, and of course had to follow social distancing rules. In view of this, they moved all their lessons online so that the school could continue running. However, as lockdown has slowly lifted, they have gone back to normal classes, and following the government safety procedures.

Their class sizes are kept to a level where they can offer each student individual guidance and close 1 to 1 working relationships, they are able to nurture and fulfill every aspect of each student's goals. The school has had a Performers and Casting Agency for several years now, and some pupils have been able to work professionally in West End Shows, as well as in TV and Radio.

Angie’s School offers classes to children from as young as 3 years of age, and they try to cater for those that want classes once a week to enjoy their favorite subject, as well as those that have plans to make Performing Arts part of their future career. ‘Westminster School Of Performing Arts’ (WSPA) are affiliated to all of the top examining bodies, and students can go on to University, or a full time Performing Arts College with a wonderful portfolio of qualifications once they leave WSPA.

ABOUT // WSPA

22

To sum everything up WSPA have several strands to their school which they try to tie up into one all embracing network. Angie is very grateful to have a wonderful team of teachers and helpers and eternally lucky to have the use of such a fantastic facility, the St Andrews Club, long may it continue. WSPA Website

ABOUT // WSPA

“Water scarcity in school affects our performances because a lot of time is wasted in pursuit of water. Our parents are expected to pay for the water bills on a monthly basis and at times they do not have the money required by the school. If a student is sent home, they can fail to get the required cash and this leads to frustration. We are also not given drinking water as frequent as expected because of water insufficiency. Carrying water jerry cans to school is very exhausting. Since the school feeding program was abolished, many students can’t concentrate in class because of hunger. Some opt to miss the afternoon classes which disrupts the school’s routines.”
