iTunes Use: Ripping music from a CD 1. Using your personal computer, open an Internet browser window. 2. In the URL address bar, type in http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ This will display the following web screen:

3. On the left of the window, locate and click on the blue, rectangular “Download Now� icon

4. Upon clicking the “Download Now” icon, a window will appear on your computer screen:

Select “Run.” iTunes will begin to install on your computer, and you will see the following download screen:

5. When the download is complete, a box will appear asking if you want to “Run” the software or “Don’t Run” the software. Select “Run.”

6. A message will appear from iTunes+Quicktime, giving a brief introduction to iTunes and preparing you for the install onto your computer. Select “Next.”

7. After clicking “Next,” a screen will appear asking if you agree to the license agreement for iTunes. Read the entire list of terms. If you agree to all terms, click the checkbox next to “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click “Next.” Selecting “I do not agree to the terms in the license agreement will terminate your download of iTunes and result in your inability to obtain the software.

8. After agreeing to the license terms and clicking “Next”, a box will appear asking you where to install iTunes, simply click “Install.”

9. A box will appear tracking the progress of the iTunes installation:

10. When the installation is complete, a screen will appear letting you know that iTunes has been successfully installed on your computer. Select “Finish.�

iTunes has now been successfully downloaded and installed on your computer. iTunes will automatically open upon the completion of the download and installation.

iTunes Use: Ripping music from a CD 11. Insert the CD into the CD drive of your personal computer. 12. The following window will automatically appear on your screen asking if you would like to import the CD into your iTunes. Click “Yes.�

13. Next, the CD that you inserted will begin Importing into iTunes. The green circular symbols (located to the left of the tracks on the CD) indicate that the song has successfully downloaded, and the orange circular symbols indicate that the song download is in progress.

Do not eject the CD during this process.

14. When all of the circular symbols to the left of the songs, the CD has been successfully imported. 3.

15. To eject the CD from your personal computer, click on the circular icon next to the title of the CD.

iTunes Use: Uninstalling iTunes 16. On your personal computer desktop, locate the Start icon, and click on “Control Panel.”

17. Locate “Programs” and click on “Uninstall a Program.”

18. Next locate iTunes in the list of programs. Right-click on “iTunes” and select “Uninstall.” This will remove the program and all songs/media you have uploaded into it from your computer.

19. The following progress window will appear after you have clicked “Uninstall.” It tracks the progress of the removal of the iTunes software from your personal computer. When the green bar has reached the end, the software will have been removed.
