DON’T DESPISE SMALL BEGINNING Dr. Pasha Carter

Dr. Carter started her career in direct sales at the age of 23. Today, she is recognized as one of the most influential direct sales leaders, ranked in the “Top 15 Female Networkers In The World” out of over 14 million women worldwide. She was voted “Business Coach Of The Year 2019” and voted one of Dallas’ most powerful women. She was also ranked as part of the “100 of America’s Wealthiest African-Americans” and interviewed by Dr. Dennis Kimbro and The Napoleon Hill Foundation for the New York Times best-seller, The Wealth Choice, alongside Steve Harvey, Tyler Perry and Bishop TD Jakes. Furthermore, Carter sits on the expert panel of Forbes Magazine, where she writes articles and lends her business advice to CEOs, entrepreneurs, and influencers. Her exciting talks and seminars on leadership, entrepreneurship, self-esteem, goals, strategy, creativity and success and psychology bring about immediate changes and long-term results.

Hundreds of thousands of people have already realized the power of Carter’s strategies through her coaching, writing, keynote speaking and seminars. Pasha has developed several topproducing leaders and she has helped countless people find their inner greatness. Her passion is seeing people break through the financial bondage and excuses that stop them from reaching true freedom emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually and financially.

“My mission is to educate others on the reality of and the choice of true financial freedom by teaching them how to earn more, keep more and invest more,” Carter said. In an exclusive interview, this amazing powerhouse opened up about her business success.

BE: Please tell us about your road from sleeping on your best friend’s floor–to becoming an NFL cheerleader–to building a multimillion dollar business. Carter: In the mid-90s, Atlanta was the place to be for aspiring young entrepreneurs. Despite not knowing exactly what I wanted to do, I packed my bags and moved from Montgomery, Alabama, to Atlanta, Georgia. I started working at Emory University and was sleeping on my best friend’s floor when I auditioned to be an NFL cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons.

A pivotal moment in my journey came when the NFL staff hosted an event at one of the NFL player’s mansions one evening after a game. It was the first time I saw what financial success looked like up-close. Right then, I said, “One day I’m going to have this type of lifestyle.” Instead of being on the sidelines cheerleading for millionaires, I decided to become a millionaire. I wanted to create my own lane, generate wealth, and work on my terms.

The switch flipped for me just like that. Millionaire status was suddenly within reach because I changed my mindset.

rom there, I began attending various conferences with entrepreneurs and listening to the leadership tapes of Les Brown, Zig Ziglar and Brian Tracy. I started my own business at 23, and by the time I was 29, my business was making 6-figures. My husband and I partnered up in our 30s, and by our mid40s, we had earned over $10 million. I want people to realize between the milestones; there were plenty of growing pains. Some months I made significant income; other months, I didn’t make a dime. The life of a young entrepreneur was a rollercoaster, but I refused to get off the ride because my goals were not only possible, they were attainable

Tell us about a time that you wanted to give up and what you did to convince yourself to keep going.

I never wanted to give up. I knew what I wanted and what kind of doors achieving my goals would open. It was only a matter of time until my aspirations became a reality, so I stayed the course through the ups and downs.

Listening to motivational speakers and reading the biographies of industry leaders helped me alter my perspective. Most successful business leaders and entrepreneurs learn to succeed through trial and error. Failures, mistakes and bad business decisions became opportunities for me to recalibrate and try again. I wanted passive income and to never have to punch a time clock again. Resilience and dedication became the cost of admission and I paid willingly.

In sales, the worst thing that can happen is you make a pitch and the customer says no. When my mom, who was very active in the Civil Rights Movement, marched alongside Dr. King and like-minded activists, some of them were sprayed with water hoses, chased by dogs and beaten by police officers. My business woes are nothing in comparison. If they were strong enough to endure those situations, surely I can bounce back from a month of zero sales or a client backing out of a deal. In business and in life, mindset is everything.

How do you plan on finishing 2022 strong?

I launched VIP Global Magazine, digital edutainment for content curators, influencers, entrepreneurs, and businessminded personnel to learn, connect, and grow their companies. My goal is to create a platform where small business owners can network and build wealth. I constantly look to highlight businesses that have the potential to thrive but need connections and finances to take their companies to the next level.

AUTHOR SELLING BEST

Dr. Nora Shariff Borden

My identity and integrity are in Christ Jesus. One day I was at an office supply store when the cashier informed me that I would receive a discount if I paid in cash. On my way to my car, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me what she intended to do with the money. He instructed me to return to the store and let her know what He had revealed to me. I then shared that I would not report her, but she needed not to do it again. Later that day, God spoke to me and said that the money I thought I had saved I was to give to my pastor for the mission work our church was doing in Africa. That Wednesday, while I was at bible study, one of the sisters at service greeted me and put something in the palm of my hand during praise and worship. (blessing) When praise and worship was over, I looked in my hand; it was the extract amount that I had given my pastor for the mission work in Africa. The lesson I learned that day was the importance of continually operating in the integrity of Christ.

) How do you maintain a high level of integrity in your life and in your work?

Wow! This is an easy question NOW. I could give you a storybook answer where everyone will love it and agree but I won’t Part of integrity is being transparent no matter how ashamed or embarrassing it may be Honestly, I didn’t have a high level of integrity before. The residue of being in survival mode as a teenage mom, living in poverty often resurfaced I was a multiple six figure earner, business was extremely successful and God’s favor upon my life put me on islands, planes and boardrooms I could never get in myself I’ll just say my gifts continued to make room for me However, I was still behaving “as if I was in survival” Oftentimes, we don’t get released from those traumas, generational curses and just accept those “odd” behaviors as “that’s just “who I am” Not true It’s who you have “adapted” to being or “learned to be” I have lost many friendships and relationships because of it. It was those “lessons” that allowed me to take an introspective view, hire a therapist and be healed of the wounds I could not see It is with that level of integrity, that I beseech you to do the same no matter how subtle and infrequent those emotions, feelings or behaviors arise Thank me later!

Today, I maintain a high level of integrity because it’s just embedded in my DNA. You see, once you remove the junk, unlearn the skills you used to survive, it allows your true self and genes to be expressed I’ve adopted the core value in the saying “Everything you do, do as unto God and not unto man”. This blueprint is dual-fold:

Allows me to operate in excellence regardless of whom I’m serving, their capacity or their behavior on their end of the agreement. Allows me to recognize their trauma and separate the “behavior” from the “person” I get to see humanity and deal with the action and not mishandle the soul

Sometimes in life, it’s not the things you learn that matters, it’s the things you “uiinlearn” that are the most rewarding and liberating

1

In my humble opinion, innately ALL people are good I don’t believe you can operate with integrity and not be philanthropic to some degree. My personal philanthropic endeavors are those that deal with teenage moms, women and entrepreneurship for the underserved and underprivileged Even though I graduated from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine on a full academic scholarship, been to Necker Island with Billionaire Richard Branson, operate 3 documented, multiple six figure businesses, live in a penthouse overlooking the marina, drive a Tesla SUV, and speak on stages with the greats like Tony Robbins, Donald Trump and travel the world, I was still a struggling unwed teenage mom The census would define my situation as underprivileged, underserved and a government dependent It was arduous and a true undertaking but when you’re determined and destined for success, you understand those things were temporary My mom always taught me that the best way to reach success was through the hands of education. Through those struggles I founded a non profit called Her Business Matters Foundation We teach young girls ages 9 - 19 how to master S E L F It’s an acronym for Self Esteem, Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Financial Literacy These 4 pillars are what allowed me to escape the condemnation of the world’s judgment and thrive Education and Entrepreneurship changed the trajectory of my life

I feel it is my social and moral obligation to help others navigate the trials of motherhood, the society judgment, self sufficiency and the blessing and privilege of being a loving mother

Women of Substance - How You Can Be One?

Being a woman of influence is not at all easy. It's a daily grind that requires a lot of effort. But what makes women influential to others is the integrity and the hard work that led us where we are today.

Women are capable of changing the world; making a difference in our own lives as well as rendering a positive impact on the lives of others. It’s time we start believing in ourselves, be confident in our abilities, and take action to make things happen The journey to being women of influence starts with embracing our truth

N O M A D I C | 2 4

There are many ways to become a woman of influence, but the recipe for success is learning how to balance your business with your personal life It’s like juggling many balls simultaneously but it’s so worth it. People often ask me how I balance everything so perfectly My answer to that is by “Incorporating Habits” into my daily routine that is healthy for both my mental and physical health. Shifting my perspective has helped me stay focused on what matters most: my family and friends and alsoto give 100% of myself at work.

Three practices help me maintain my integrity as a leader daily First, I surround myself with people who are more experienced and successful than me they're my mentors, and they inspire me to be better Second, I always read books or listen to motivational tapes to improve myself Third, I attend workshops and other events that help me grow as a professional to serve others better.

If you want to be a woman of influence, this is a sign for you. Start by taking inventory of your inner-self; of things that you want to change as well as the values that are important to you. Lastly, try to be the woman that you aspire to be
