Supernatural Spiritualty
When I started my journey to research on the depth of supernatural spirituality, I travelled throughout India. From my childhood days, how much I traveled. From my many lifetimes, I have had a very strong relationship with a lot of saints. I stayed in different ashrams and places in Haridwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Rishikesh, Manasarovar, Nepal, Kathmandu, Sri Sailam, Kalahasti.
After my experience with Baba , it made me more curious. ‘What is the ultimate final goal? I’ll get a good job. Fine. Good wife, fine. Making money, good. House, good. Children, good. After that, what? After that, what? Next, what? Why are so many people suffering? Where is the key for them to come out, how to help them come out? Every problem has a solution. What is the solution to come out from this maya?’
India
I went to the Kumbha Mela. In your life, it’s my advice that you go to the Kumbha Mela once. Kumbha means pot, mela means energy, an energy pot. Millions of saints attend. Somebody comes on an elephant, some come naked, another with ash, another with a funny hairstyle, and someone with a needle in their tongue.
I lived simply with two white kurta pajamas, a little towel, my little bag, soap, toothpaste, a little money, that’s it. I looked at all the saints and got completely frustrated. ‘These guys are all psychiatric patients. Look at this guy smoking. It’s better if I become a doctor or lawyer or a good ayurvedic doctor. Why this spirituality?’ The way of their sitting, the way of their laughing, was completely disgusting to me. Seeing all these Gomateshwaras – naked people – what are they researching, what is their goal, that was my interest. Do they really have that much bliss or not? Or are they addicted to drugs? I interviewed some saints. Sometimes it made sense; sometimes it didn’t.
One aghori was super smart. He knew the Kala Chakra. When he saw me, he saw the spark in my eyes. He smiled. He was walking in a procession with other saints, then walked out and put his hand on my shoulder. At the time, if a big wind came, I needed some protection so I wouldn’t fly away! I was 42 kilos, super thin. One banana was enough for the entire day. He told me, “It’s not the time for you to come. Go to Shirdi. We’re alive, he’s not alive, but he’s there. Stop your monkey mind. Go and stay with him.” Good.
I asked, “Why are you doing all these kinds of things?” I was a science student, botany, chemistry, and physics. I dissected cobras, and rabbits, and cockroaches. Seriously. I had a good score in botany and zoology. In chemistry lab, out of 50 marks, 49 marks. Such a science student was caught in spirituality. The Maya Chakra hit me. Some maya hit me very strongly, that’s why I wanted to research at the Kumbha Mela with the naked people. Generally, at that age, people fall in love, have a girlfriend, have romance, just going to the park and restaurants. But my style was completely different.
If a mother gives birth to four kids, one kid is a scientist, one kid is a professor, one kid is a criminal, and one kid is a farmer. Is the mother responsible? The four kids came from the same womb, isn’t it? From the same father. But the four souls are different. The mother simply watches and cries, ‘Why is one person a criminal, one person a scientist?’ She’s under depression. What’s the solution? That was my research. I asked the aghori, “Is there any solution for the maya?”
He said, “It’s the Maya Chakra. Every person has to go through. It doesn’t matter how wealthy you are.” Certain things he explained to me were unbelievable.
“Today, look at my position,” he said. “When I take off, I’m not taking anything with me. Nobody is your security. I have ten people with me, they’re not security to me. Yourself, you are the security. You need to protect yourself. You need to protect your soul. You need to protect your happiness. Your kids are not security. Your husband is not security. Your wife is not security. Your friends are not security. Only the Guru Parampara is your security. Leave it to the Guru Parampara. That’s it.”
He drove me crazy. ‘Why is he talking this nonsense? What are all these attachments, all these bonds, what’s this?’
He could read my mind. “Stop your monkey mind. What I’m talking is reality. You, the lineage, that’s it.”
