Packet Pickup (McGee Center) Line-up, Introduction & Convocation Wave Start Awards Ceremony
DIRECTIONS Driving directions for the relevant locations are: McGee Center (north entrance) To McGee Center from I-40 West (Little Rock): Take exit 129B to Dave Ward Drive West. Follow Dave Ward Drive for about 5 miles to Hogan Lane (by Advance Auto Parts). Turn right on Hogan Lane. Turn right at the second traffic light onto Prince Street. Turn right into the McGee Center drive (just before car wash). To McGee Center from I-40 East (Fort Smith): Take exit 124. Turn right at the traffic light onto Hwy 64 (Old Morrilton Hwy). Follow Hwy 64 for about 2 miles, and then turn left on Hogan Lane. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Prince Street. Turn right into McGee Center drive (just before car wash). TIMING CHIP Timing chips are in your race packet. DISPOSIBLE TIMING CHIPS DO NOT HAVE TO BE RETURNED AFTER THE EVENT. PARTICIPANTS SIGNED UP AS A WALKER must walk the entire course. If you are planning on running ANY part of the course, you are a RUNNER! PACE GROUPS Pace leaders will be available for the following finish times (paces): 1:45:00 (8:00), 1:50:00 (8:23), 1:55:00 (8:46), 2:00:00 (9:09), 2:15:00 (10:17), and 2:30:00 (11:26). You’ll see the leaders with a sign at the starting line in the appropriate wave. Please look for them and line up with them.
WAVE START We will be starting the race in a wave start with a timing mat placed at the start and finish. Your official race time will begin when you cross the start line. Please line up in the start area in the areas marked with your realistic projected pace or finish time. Waves will be as follows: Start time Expected pace (finish time) 8:00 7:00 min/m (1:32:00) or faster 8:02 7:40 min/m (1:40:00) or faster 8:04 8:45 min/m (1:55:00) or faster 8:06 9:30 min/m (2:05:00) or faster 8:08 11:05 min/m (2:25:00) or faster Make sure your disposable timing 8:10 all remaining runners chip is secured to your shoe. 8:12 all walkers* *All walkers will be asked to line up in the last group.
BAG CHECK You will be able to check a bag inside the McGee Center using your race number only. You may pick these up after the race using your race number. You must keep your race number to be able to pick up your bag. Bag check-in will be available from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM, and pick-up will be available from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM. Please do not check valuable items. We cannot be responsible for valuable items left in your bag. Any unclaimed items at the end of the day will be donated to a local charity. ROCK RUNNERS RELAY Leg 1 of the relay will start at the McGee Center with the half marathon wave start and will follow the half marathon course until reaching the exchange point at Ruth Doyle Intermediate (mile 6). At this point, the second leg will take over the timing chip strap, follow the second half of the course and finish at the McGee Center. RELAY RUNNERS: DO NOT ZIP TIE YOUR TIMING CHIP TO YOUR SHOE. PLEASE SECURE RELAY TIMING STRAP TO YOUR ANKLE. There is no shuttle service to and from the relay exchange point. See www.swhalf.com for directions to exchange point and relay parking info.

COURSE TIME LIMIT The course will be closing on a rolling basis, and sections will close following a 4:00:00 finishing pace (18:19/mile). AID STATIONS There will be 8 aid stations on the course, approximately every 1.5 miles. Each aid station will be supplying runners with water and Gatorade. Gu & Louis Garneau brand energy gel will be provided at the 6 mile aid station. RACE PHOTOS Official race photographs are provided by Action Sports Images or www.actionsportsimages.com. RACE RESULTS During the event, preliminary race results will be posted on the side of the McGee Center. After the race, final results will be available at www.stearnsracetiming.com, www.swhalf.com, and www.arkansasrunner.com.
PARKING Limited parking will be available at the paved McGee Center parking lot, as well as the overflow grass lot (weather permitting). If this area is full, ample parking will be available at Woodland Heights Baptist Church (4215 Prince Street), at the corner of Prince and Hogan (please do not park on the grass at the church). The address for the McGee Center is 3800 College Ave. Car access to the McGee Center will only be available through the north entrance (off of Prince St, just east of the Prince St and Hogan Lane intersection).

AWARDS An award will be given to the top 3 runners in the following categories for each gender: overall, overall masters (40 and over), 19 & under, 20 to 24, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 75 to 79, and 80 and over. An award will be given to the top 5 runners in the following categories for each gender: 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59. Additionally, an award will be given to the top 3 walkers in the following categories for each gender: overall, and overall masters. An award will be given to the top finisher in the following categories for each gender in both the runner and walker divisions: overall grandmaster, and overall senior. Relay awards will be given to the top three teams. All awards will be given during the awards ceremony, which will begin promptly at 12:00 PM. If you are not present to claim your award, it will be made available for you to pick up at The Sporty Runner in Conway after the race. Awards can be mailed for $10. There will be no duplication of awards.

VIP AREA The VIP area (inside the McGee Center) is reserved for the VIP program participants and the Extra Mile participants who raise a certain level of funds for Soaring Wings Ranch. VIP runners can present their race bib to gain access to this area. HP FAMILY FUN DAY Spectator friends and family are welcome to join us at the finish area for FREE hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas and plenty of fun for the kids provided by HP.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Baby strollers, rollerblades, skates, headphones, unauthorized vehicles, unauthorized runners and pets are strictly prohibited to ensure runner safety. Participants will be sharing the roadways with moving traffic. Be aware of vehicular traffic at all times, remain to the side of the roadway, observe course monitorsâ€™ instruction, and proceed through intersections with heightened caution. Race numbers should be securely pinned to the front of your clothing and visible at all times.
Soaring Wings Ranch provides a permanent Christ-centered home for children ages 6-17 who have been the victims of unfortunate circumstances and just need a chance. The Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on private funding for growth and operations. We value your support.
