I AM DKJA As my academic achievements grow, so does my understanding of what it means to be Jewish and my connection to Israel.

JUDAIC STUDIES At DKJA, Jewish living, learning, and academic achievement permeate the entire educational experience. Connecting to Israel is an invaluable component of the DKJA curriculum. Students in upper grade levels have the opportunity to visit and study in our homeland, Israel. From the most ancient traditions and the wisdom of the Torah, to the learning of modern Hebrew as it is spoken in present-day Israel, the study and practice of what it means to be Jewish today begins in Kindergarten and continues through High School graduation. Students thus acquire a heightened awareness of Jewish heritage, culture, ethics, and values, so that Judaism becomes a relevant and natural part of their daily lives.

I AM DKJA Teachers are the face of education, the voice of learning, the smile of caring, the eyes that see each child as an individual.

FACULTY Our teachers are carefully selected for their talent and their commitment to the intellectual, social, and spiritual development of our students. DKJA’s low teacher-student ratio keeps class sizes small while encouraging frequent one-on-one interaction.

I AM DKJA At DKJA, the concept of tikkun olam is an integral part of my life. I am committed to preserving the environment, providing for the less fortunate, and bettering myself through DKJA’s Community Service program.

REPAIRING THE WORLD DKJA has introduced an exciting program to teach students of all grade levels about the deep interconnections between Judaism and environmentalism: Shomrei HaAdamah (Guardians of the Earth). The goal of this initiative is to sensitize the students of DKJA to their natural world and to foster an appreciation of the Earth’s connection to their Jewish practices and holidays. The initiative promotes healthy food choices, waste reduction, recycling, reduction of campus-wide energy usage, integrated pest management, gardening, composting, and school–supported agriculture to create an avid culture of environmental stewardship and Jewish eco-active leaders.

I AM DKJA “We’re more than a school...we’re a family.” This is our philosophy, and we live by it every day.

FAMILY Almost every aspect of daily life at DKJA revolves around family-centered values and the sharing of traditions among the generations—L’DorVador. Shabbat programs, tefilah, lifecycle ceremonies, and cultural performances—these are just a few ways in which the DKJA family joins together to share in the celebration of our Jewish living, learning, and academic achievement.
