INTERIORS PRIVATE HOUSES
Easterly Private Residence, Sydney Project Cost: $5 million Completed: 2006 Project Description: The setting is a 3200 m2 estate with the primary portion of the heritage residence being design by Architect John Horbery Hunt during the Arts and Craft period. This was to a similar scale extended in the mid 1970’s. The new works in mid 2005 involved stripping of the internals and new windows and doors redesigned in a heritage manner through gaining contemporary use internally. The floors were replaced with Brazilian walnut, maintaining the scale of the heritage skirting boards and large cornices in the original heritage portion of the residence. All services were removed from the ceilings. The 1970’s extensions allowed new forms to be created especially in the kitchen and informal dining area.
