DIET PATTERN FOR ADULTS:
An adult should be aware of the healthiest energy boosting foods in order to perform his best at work. Always have a banana and some Graham crackers with you. If you can have access to low-fat cheeses, better!
Breakfast BACK TO WORK, EH?
Yes, with an ultimate vacation, going back to work with a messed up routine is tough but if you are eating right, your routine can easily fall back into place without any extra effort. Typically, an adult needs 1200 (women)- 1700 (men) calories per day. Of course this depends on your work as well. If you are a heavy worker, 1800-2000 calorie intake is highly recommended. Females require more calcium and iron in their diets whilst men require more protein and iron as well.
Adults tend to skip breakfast and binge throughout the day.
This is unhealthy. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Never skip breakfast. It hinders mental and physical potential of an individual.
TIP:
Pay attention to your water intake. If you are dehydrated, you are very likely to feel tired quickly and a good diet won’t help either. Drink about 1.5 to 2 liters per day (more if you weigh above 80 kg.)
A breakfast high in fiber such as bran or wholewheat can keep many diseases such as heart ailments, stomach ulcers and even obesity at a distance. Time to grab some of those Weetabix boxes now!
Lunch
Lunch should be protein with vegetables. A sample lunch for a typical adult would include grilled chicken with broiled vegetables, tomato sauce and some Arabic bread (a small piece). It is highly recommended to avoid high carb foods like rice when working as it is more likely to slow you down and make you lethargic as well.
Snacks
One of the best energy boosting snacks is to combine yogurt and your favorite cereal. Viola! They taste awesome and you have your complete nutrition. Other energy boosters include bananas, nuts, almonds, walnuts, popcorn and try the hummus dips instead of high-calorie mayo or cream dips for those baked chips! DESTINATION JEDDAH 83
