hen I am old and grey and can look back at my head coaching career, there are many things that I will fondly remember. The first win, the first championship, the first win against a ranked team, the first senior class, and perhaps the fondest memory will be this senior class, the first group of young men I have had the pleasure to coach for their entire high school career. It is truly a special bond that coach and player share when so much time is spent together. Over the last four years just about every emotion has been shared. We have pushed, yelled, encouraged, supported, offered advice about parents, girlfriends and future plans, suffered through tough defeats and celebrated tremendous wins. Throughout all of these experiences, good or bad, I always told these young men I have a great deal of respect for them, and at the end of the day, I hope these seniors will look back on their high school career with pride and a true sense of accomplishment. This football program has grown exponentially during the last four years. When we started, Centennial football was in the dumps. We had a simple goal: Give our community, parents, students and teachers, a football team they can be proud of. In four years, this senior class was a part of three wins over state ranked opponents, a state playoff berth last season, hopefully one this year, and only the second win over Roswell in the school’s 14-year history. These are just some of the accomplishments of this senior class. It is safe to say that we have met our goal. It was truly an honor to serve as their head coach, and if I have one wish for these young men, is that they can somehow apply a few things they have learned throughout this experience to make themselves a better son, brother, and student, and in due time, make them a better husband and father. To all the parents of these fine young men, thank you for trusting myself and my staff with your boys. The one thing I can honestly say is I have made every attempt to treat your children as I would want my own son treated, and please know that just like your boys, you will always be a part of our program. Respectively, Jeff Measor Centennial head football coach
