newrules Lady Bird

There are some combinations you just can’t mess with: strawberries and cream, Bert and Ernie, festival season and a couple of cheeky bevvies. Luckily for punters across the country this year, Lady Bird know the score when it comes to the best place to purchase that sweet, sweet booze and it seems only apt that they’ll get to perform their ferocious track ’Spoons’ - dedicated to JD’s one and only - up and down the country in celebration. It’s time to raise your pints high… BE THERE: Lady Bird play Live at Leeds (5th May), Stag & Dagger (6th May), 2000trees (12th - 14th July), Truck (19th - 22nd July), and Neverworld (2nd - 5th August).

Sorry

Fresh from signing to Domino and sharing their first two proper singles, London four-piece Sorry are on a roll right now. Already considered a fierce live band, and about to tour with Sunflower Bean across the UK, the band will then take their attack to festival season. Melting traditional guitar band tropes with something weirder, fresher and more electronic, they’re an exceedingly unique proposition live, and we wouldn’t bet against them being the highlight of your weekends all summer long. BE THERE: Sorry play Festival L’Ère de Rien (20th 21st April), Live at Leeds (5th May), Liverpool Sound City (5th - 6th May), Sounds From The Other City (6th May), Latitude (12th - 15th July), Truck (19th - 22nd July), and Green Man (16th - 19th July).

Yonaka

Since their emergence back in 2016, Yonaka have built themselves quite the potent reputation. Thanks to incendiary breakout track ‘Bubblegum’, which channels adrenaline in droves, and their follow-up ‘Heavy’ EP, the Brighton four-piece have quickly become renowned for their in-your-face live shows. With slots at Primavera Sound, Bilbao BBK Live and Kendal Calling on the horizon, they’re planning on showing off their fierce streak to a hell of a lot more people. BE THERE: Yonaka play Are You Listening (28th April), Gold Sounds (19th - 20th May), Primavera Sound (30th May - 3rd June), Bilbao BBK Live (12th - 14th July), Kendal Calling (26th - 29th July), FM4 Frequency (16th 19th August), and Victorious (24th - 26th August).

The Orielles

Having cited everything from Talking Heads to Burger Records as influences on their sound, it’s no secret that trio The Orielles are an eclectic and adventurous bunch. Fresh from releasing their debut ‘Silver Dollar Moment’ earlier this year, the Halifax band are poised and ready to show off their curious melding pot of garage indie rock to a whole host of audiences this summer, and there’s no doubting they’ll take festival season in their stride. BE THERE: the orielles play Handmade (5th - 6th May), Liverpool Sound City (5th - 6th May), The Great Escape (17th - 19th May), Truck (19th - 22nd July), Deer Shed (20th - 22nd July), Tramlines (20th - 22nd July), Kendal Calling (26th - 29th July), Y Not (26th - 29th July), Victorious (24th - 26th August), and End of the Road (30th August - 2nd September).
