My Key Club Story :
Alice Torres I discovered Key Club my freshman year through my school’s Key Club advisor that also happened to be my science teacher at the time. Joining Key Club was one of the best choices of my life because it has been the key to opening many unexpected doors throughout my high school career. The countless hours I have put into volunteering at the service events and various roles I have attained in Key Club, are what made me change from a bystander to a servant leader. My perspective of what it really meant to become socially involved in helping my community for the better good, changed. Key Club was one of the major reasons why I also went out of my way to volunteer for organizations and pursue higher leadership roles involving the community. As I go off into the adult world in less than four months, the strong sense of servant leadership that Key Club has instilled within me is something I want to continue spreading to others within my community. In love and service,

A word from Lu… “Do you ever love something so much and want to treasure and cherish it and nurture it forever? Key Club is my baby. I ran for LTG because I have a huge admiration and love for what we stand for as an organization. A few years ago, my sister and I would wake up in the early cracks of dawn in the summer to drive ourselves to Kiwanis meetings, work late nights to organize key club drives and count member hours, and volunteer for hours at a time because we genuinely enjoy doing everything we can for Key Club. I revere the people who work so hard for Key Club and I grow extremely inspired and in awe of what we accomplish every single day. I have experienced a lot of things that I wouldn't have if I didn't join Key Club and learned many lessons about my identity and the kind of person I want to be through it. Learning, against all odds, how to be a leader despite being known to be a sheep following the herd. High school always means a lot of soul searching, and Key Club has been one of the most impactful and important things that has happened to me. I ran because I strongly believe in the power of kindness. I ran because I want to inspire people in the same ways I have been by the passion to lead through service to others in Key Club. I ran because I have a lot of views and knowledge about how our division! I feel like I wanted to step up because I wanted to have a voice about what we can do and what we should do-- how we can progress forward from where we are now. Shortly put, I ran for LTG because Key Club is my home”.
