At Citi, we believe that the key to business success is diversity of thought. This is only made possible by having a workforce with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skills. Our company—operating in more than 140 countries—has a rich diversity. challenge in some communities where we are located. To ensure global awareness of our policies and practices, we are working to establish more diversity training, councils, and committees at the local and regional level. In 2013, one of the priority objectives we set for ourselves was to increase the percentage of women and minorities in senior management. To do so, we needed to find more ways to develop and retain female and minority talent. Citi’s CEO introduced a scorecard that includes a diversity metric that considers the percentage of female candidates for all senior management positions globally and the percentage of both female and minority candidates for such openings in the US.
