It’s been a decade since Southern Gypsey Queen (SGQ) hit the road with nothing more than a demo CD and barely enough fuel to get from town to town. The band remember those days fondly, despite the fact that they were quite challenging. But Paul Wilson (drums), Tammy Wilson (bass and vocal) and Gareth Wilson (guitars) succeeded in igniting a new spark in rock. All their albums – Sweet Voodoo, Rise Up, Be the Lion, Delusions of Grandeur – have all been major successes. In the last two years, SGQ have also been touring with Albert Frost

and performing a collaborative show affectionately known as “Queens of the Frost Age”. Due to the success of these tours, SGQ and Albert recorded an album together under a new name. For their anniversary tour, the band recorded Stand up Again, a new track available as a free download at www.gevaaalik.com. This is the band’s way of saying thanks to the fans for all the support. As part of their tour, they will perform at Bertie’s Moorings in Gordon’s Bay on Friday 14 December. The show starts at 21:00 and entrance is free.
