NGSS Engineering Practices: Structures
Students build and test solarpowered cars, solar-powered boats, and wind-driven turbines. In addition, students will investigate renewable energy sources and perform tests associated with structural integrity, speed, and efficiency. Note: students work in teams; no individual takehome project.
Conduct a series of challenges, tests and trials using index cards and wooden weights. Also learn about the integrity of structures and which shapes of structures are the strongest, then apply this information to manufactured and natural designs.

Renewable Energy
Students participate in hands-on, engineering projects centered on harnessing and controlling energy (light and motion) to gain skills needed to create their own innovative project. Explorations include: circuits, deconstructing and building motors, designing switches, and open-ended, student-driven projects.
Starlab Planetarium
Starlab is our amazing portable planetarium, designed to surround your students with the universe!
