Visiting Trieste’s most iconic shooting locations is a unique opportunity to take a peek backstage, where the audience is usually not allowed: follow the city’s cinema itineraries and imagine the sound of the clapperboard, while some of cinema’s most famous scenes unfold before your eyes. This project, called “Esterno/Giorno” (lit. Exterior/ Daytime), is organised by the association Casa del Cinema di Trieste, and traces a trail through shooting locations of films, TV series, and video clips scattered throughout the city and within the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Following each itinerary, either on foot or comfortably sitting in a minibus, you will visit historic filmmaking landmarks in Trieste, from the seafront to the city’s innermost areas. Ripercorrere i luoghi simbolo del cinema a Trieste, ma anche entrare lì dove di solito il pubblico non può accedere: è l’opportunità speciale delle passeggiate di cinema che si possono “vivere” in città. Si chiamano Esterno/Giorno e sono organizzate dalla Casa del Cinema di Trieste sui luoghi clou di film, serie tv e videoclip girati in città e nel Friuli Venezia Giulia. I tour a piedi e in pullmino percorrono i luoghi simbolo della Trieste al cinema, dal lungomare all’interno, ma anche passeggiate specifiche dedicate a “La porta rossa”, “Il ragazzo invisibile” di Salvatores, ai romanzi noir di Veit Heinichen sul Commissario Laurenti e sui luoghi de “La Grande Guerra” di Monicelli tra Gemona del Friuli e Venzone. Grazie ai visori in Realtà Virtuale, il turista cinefilo (o semplicemente curioso) potrà entrare virtualmente anche nei luoghi proibiti al pubblico come se si trovasse in ambienti reali. Le prossime date in programma sono: – Passeggiata “La Porta Rossa”: 23 giugno (da Casa del Cinema), 3 luglio (da Piazza della Borsa) e 4 luglio (passeggiata virtuale nello spazio ShorTS in piazza della Borsa); – Passeggiata “Trieste e il cinema”: 10 giugno (tour pullman con partenza da Piazza Oberdan), 5 luglio e 6 luglio da Piazza della Borsa.

There is a literary tour as well: a guided visit to the places where Veit Heinichen’s noir novels are set. Furthermore, every film lover or merely curious visitor, is provided with a virtual-reality viewer, with which they may enter the secret world of the backstage and watch film shootings with their own eyes. Scheduled tour dates: – “La Porta Rossa” tour on 23rd June (starting point: Casa del Cinema); 3rd July (starting point: Piazza della Borsa); and 4th July (virtual walk at ShorTS, Piazza della Borsa); – “Trieste e il cinema” (Trieste and cinema) tour on 10th June (minibus leaves from Piazza Oberdan), 5th and 6th July (starting point: Piazza della Borsa).
