Helping the Homeless

Imagine this - it is the middle of August, 118°F outside, around noon you are driving to the bank or to pick up kids from a play date and you find yourself at a red light. You are listening to your favorite song on the radio, enjoying the air conditioning, when you glance over and there he is, a man with scraggly hair and weathered skin, he is sweating and his shoes have holes in them, his sign simply reads “Veteran. Hungry.” Oh your heartstrings are being tugged, you quickly search around your car and check your pockets but you don’t have any food or change, and now the light is green and you have to pull forward. As you watch him disappear in your mirror you think to yourself about how you should keep something with you at all times for these situations. Well Andy Hobaica has done just that; he has created a non-profit organization based on this idea to help the homeless community of the Phoenix area one bag at a time.

It all began in 2012, Andy spent $500 out of pocket for supplies inspired by a love of helping others and since then it has taken off with the support of friends and family donating money, supplies, and DTPR

their time, plus recently a partnership with a 501(C)(3) company, Carry Me Productions CMP, so he can offer donors tax deductible credits. During an interview Andy described his excitement with “It’s pretty Awesome, I just love helping people” at least a dozen times with a huge genuine smile. When you meet Andy his passion is obvious, it exudes from his energy when he gets the chance to share about what the organization is doing; and he’s not just talk he works full time at his family’s company and cultivates his love of helping others in the off time. It helps that he surrounds himself with supportive people that make all of this possible, “My mom is my biggest fan, she probably has ten (bags) in her Prius at all times.” People will donate funds for shopping, or drop off items like water bottles, chips, granola bars, sunscreen etc. right to Andy’s house, when there’s a good haul of items him and some of his awesome buddies will get together and pack bags in an assembly line. There are smiles and catching up and matching T-shirts and friendly banter all while paper bags are being filled. After they have a couple hundred bags, they take them into the community and hand them out to those in need.

An hour or two of packing bags and they are gone in just ten minutes because there is a surprisingly large population of homeless people in Arizona.

Young people, elderly, families, veterans, the list goes on and on, these people are our neighbors and these bags might be the only thing they get to eat in a matter of days. It is honestly heartbreaking when you realize the actual number of Americans who are going hungry, who are unable to get the medical help they need, who live in wash ways and alleys because the world was cruel to them when they were down on their luck, and on the other hand the small number of people who take time out of their own lives to care about them. Thanks to social media Andy has been able to significantly grow his support base, and the power of the internet allows anyone to contribute to Helping the Homeless One Bag at a Time. I Knew Him as “Georgie” Carl Maggio’s Lifelong Friendship with Sparky Anderson www.carlpaulmaggio.com Recently our dream blogger, Cynthia Richmond, who also Coaches Authors in the writing of their memoirs and is an international book editor sat down with Author, Carl Paul Maggio for a chat about his long-time pal, George “Sparky” Anderson. Carl played baseball at USC, but long before those days he and Georgie Anderson were buddies, meeting on a playground in Southern California. These days you’ll find Carl living in scenic Sedona, Arizona on the golf course that George Anderson would come to play on once a year with the old Crenshaw, American Legion baseball Team, the top winning team in 1951. You’ll learn more about that as we join the conversation: C. R. Carl, why was it important for you to write a book about Sparky Anderson, I mean there are already several out there?

C. P. M. Well, yes, there are many out there, George was a great guy and a popular baseball icon, but there are two main reasons I wanted to write my book, one is because none of the others knew George like I did as kids, we go way back. And, the other is that I wanted to expose the two sides of George, the two personas; George and Sparky were essentially two different people living in one prematurely aging, white haired body! (He laughs.) The public only knew the bombastic Sparky, I wanted them to also know my friend George.

C.R. Okay! So you are telling the tale of two men! (She laughs.) How do you describe George and how is Sparky different?

C.P.M. George, or Georgie as the guys who knew him as kids called him, was a straight arrow. You know, he was born on George Washington’s birthday? George Washington could not tell a lie, we all learned that in grade school…well, neither could George Anderson.

His father didn’t complete high school but he was a wise man. He told George that being nice, kind and compassionate with people didn’t cost a dime and would always reap big rewards. He said, “everyone deserves respect and to feel special.”

When cool heads should prevail, Sparky stepped aside for George. When motivated action was required, George let Sparky take over. Sparky protected his players like a mother hen protects her chicks. Have you ever seen a mad mother hen? She’ll fly up and peck the heck out of a farm dog that scoops one of her chicks up in its mouth, she will be fearless and ferocious until she gets what’s hers back to her roost to nurture. That was Sparky in a nutshell.

C.R. Wow, that paints such a wholesome picture of the guy. But Sparky is known as the Umpire’s worst nightmare. I heard that he would get so worked up he’d forget to swallow his saliva and inadvertently be spitting while yelling at an umpire in a heated exchange defending his players.

C.P.M. Well, that’s true Sparky got tossed from many games not for what he said but for accidentally spitting on an umpire. He always apologized when that happened. Sparky earned his nickname when a radio announcer said that, “sparks are flying” as he described a hot argument between George and the ump while George was playing second base for Fort Worth in the Texas League. The next day the sports pages of the newspapers pegged it, Sparky Anderson the hotheaded second baseman and Umpire Baiter!

The thing was, George’s thirst for truth is what fueled Sparky, he could not let an injustice go unseen…however George was likely to remain calm and talk it out while Sparky had very little impulse control!

C.R. How did George manage or tame the Sparky in him?

C.P.M. You know, the two personas sorts knew when to let the other guy take over.

C.R. So returning the baseball was Georgie’s Cherry tree!

C.P.M. Exactly. He was rewarded for his honesty in a big way.

C.R. So, many of you friends from the Crenshaw playground became a team of players for the American Legion Baseball Team. Was that the precursor of Little League baseball as it is today?

C.P.M. Yes, it was except we were ages 16 & 17. And, by the way the American Legion League still exists.

C.R. I want to get back to game

C.R. So the year was 1951 and the Ameri-

specifics and some of the things that Sparky is famous for, but before we do, let’s go back to the beginning.

How did you meet George Anderson?

can Legion Crenshaw Post 715 hired Benny Lefebvre, who was the Rancho La Cienaga playground director to coach the team?

C.P.M. Now you are taking me way back! We were kids, those were the days when during the summer, when school was out, your mom would pack a lunch for you and you’d ride your bike to the local playground or park and just hang with your friends.

You were expected to be home by the time the streetlights came on. That was it. We were all buddies. In was the mid 40’s the country needed some optimism.

Georgie was a good egg even then. His family had lived near USC and he was in awe of the beautifully manicured baseball diamond. He’d go by there after school just to watch the players practice. One day he was walking home from school and he saw a pop-up fly over the fence and into the shrubs near the field. A team ball-boy had come looking for it but had given up and started back for the field. Georgie found the ball and yelled to the guy, hey, here it is! The kid said, “You found it you can keep it.” But George knew that wasn’t right. He followed the boy back to the field and asked to see the “boss man” and he returned the ball to head coach Rod Dedeaux. Dedeaux was so impressed he offered George a bat-boy position on the team. George served as USC’s batboy for five years and studied the mental aspects of the game. Incidentally many of those players were in Cooperstown when George was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame decades later.

C.P.M. That’s right, they offered 16 of us an opportunity to become a team and we started playing against the other teams in the league, a total of 16, 300 A.L. posts across the country! (Maggio chronicled the story in his previous book, Swinging From The Fences, How The American Legion Turned A Group Of Boys Into A Team Of Men. Available on Amazon.com)

C.R. Some famous professional players came out of that team, didn’t they?

C.P. M. Yes, we had some great players, the most famous was Billy Consolo; he played on five major league teams for 10 years in the big leagues and then coached for George for 17 years, they were best friends.

C.R. Getting back to your new book, Sparky and George, The Unlikely Patron Saint of Baseball, history shows that there was at least one incidence where coach Sparky actually grabbed an ump by the throat!

C.P.M. Well, that is true. But George felt

terrible about it. He could have been banned from baseball, but the umpire walked into the player’s clubhouse and offered to forget the whole thing.

Sparky later said, “That umpire saved my life. I would have died without baseball.”

“We would walk through fire in a gas suit for him.” (Speaking of Sparky.)

C.R. I know there was quite a bit of controversy about how Sparky “retired” and he had too much integrity to show the dark underbelly of the game he loved.

C.R. Wow, he really had personal discipline to remember to put his hands in his back pockets before approaching an umpire following that experience. Pete Rose became an import player for Sparky, he was quite an athlete. How did Sparky take it when Pete finally admitted to the gambling charges?

C.P.M. Sparky was devastated. Think back to that mother hen image, Sparky had asked Pete straight out if it was true.

Pete denied it and then Sparky defended his player to the world. When it came out that not only was it true but that Pete had lied to him, well, that betrayal devastated him. The two didn’t speak for years. The reunion story is in my book, but those guys loved each other and Pete wrote the Forward for the new book. Pete was quoted as saying,

C.P.M. George loved baseball the way other men love life. And he would not publically demean or expose what went on behind the scenes.

However to us childhood chums during our annual reunions, he did talk about baseball’s “issues”. We discussed everything, the use of steroids by players, the need for instant replay to make umpire calls more fair, the politics of the game…oh Sparky and George had opinions, no doubt about that, and I share them in the book.

C.R. Carl, I know you loved George like a brother, what do you miss the most about him?

C.P.M. When I am asked this question I can’t help but get tears in my eyes. I loved all my teammates from the 1951 team, but George was a unique human being. His life by example taught me so many core values that have served me as well. I loved to hear him talk, even though, like his good friend Yogi Berra, he had his own way of using the English language! He was the most positive human I have ever known.

I know everyone who loves baseball will be excited to read your book “Sparky and George, The Unlikely Patron Saint of Baseball”, and get to know the simple complexities of the first baseball manager who ever won a World Series in both the National and American Leagues, your friend Georgie Anderson.

C.P.M. Thank you Cynthia, there are so many great, fun stories in the book and great quotes too. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did writing it. It was truly a labor of love.

The Manor: Changing the Manscape of Men’s Grooming Mowing the lawn improves the landscape.

Pampering the man improves his “manscape.” This trend toward pampering men in ways to enhance grooming began in the early 2000s. That’s when men realized salons and spas could go beyond “women only.”

Wood. Metal. Cement. Clay. These are the materials James Anthony Peters uses to customize works of art for his clients. “I’m an artist-for-hire kind of guy,” he says, “and I love to be asked, ‘Is this possible?’”

Peters finds answers—and they show up most of the time in abstract fashion. Two examples: a coffee table with a concave surface he titled “Table of Contents,” or a work titled “Soul Home” that is reminiscent of a Native American dwelling. His furniture designs are unique, but less abstract. “Right now,” he says of a project, “I’m making a king sized four poster, canopied bed out of Peruvian walnut.”

In addition to his work as selfsustaining artist, Peters once worked in a design studio for the film industry. He now works part time at the Mesa Historical Museum to design and build out exhibitions. He likes dealing with their growing collection of historical materials.

This artist’s career began when he was a graduate student in ceramics at Arizona State University. The work Peters did as a student was displayed at Art One gallery in Scottsdale, and that opened lots of doors into what would be his future. For the past 15 years Peters has worked as an artist in the Valley of the Sun. Galleries in Scottsdale, Sedona, Santa Fe and New Orleans represented his works of art until 2008.

Now gallery representation-free, Peters operates from his own studio. He enjoys commissions to build furniture or create sculptures for architects, interior designers and for “friends who’ve saved money to have me make something for their home.” Every piece Peters creates is one-of-a-kind.

Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau Arizona’s Top Drawer Bureau for Visitors is in Glendale For 15 years Lorraine Pino has built a career by rolling out a red carpet for people.

She has managed Glendale’s tourism program since 2000 and was instrumental in the formation of the Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) in 2010. That means she’s been promoting all the best that the West Valley has to offer as a year-round destination for new and repeat tourists and business travelers.

As a 43 year resident of Glendale, Pino knows no boundaries when it comes to this part of the Valley of the Sun. “The Glendale CVB is the only convention and visitors bureau in the West Valley, and we proudly represent all 14 cities in the region,” she says.

In 1997, when the city of Glendale developed its first tourism program to promote the resurgence of its Historic Downtown area, the downtown became a premier travel destination. Now it’s known for several annual events: Glendale Glitters; Glendale Glitter & Glow, a hot air balloon festival in January; Glendale Chocolate Affaire in February and a Summer Band Concert Series that proves good music and does a good job to cancel the high temperatures at that time of year.

For those whose interest in history leans toward the area’s social and economic history, Glendale offers tours of two gems, Historic Sahuaro Ranch and Manistee Ranch. Those are places where visitors can see what Glendale was like through farming and ranching.

The other communities around Glendale also offer special events throughout the year. For example, the first week in December, the town of Surprise celebrates its birthday with an event known as Surprise Party. And the art behind his business and craft he’s summed up here, as if he writing poetry. “I am always looking for that shot that evokes emotion of the viewer,” he says. Perhaps that’s because he built his own darkroom when he was 12 years old. He explains that he had an “interest in photography as an art form since I was a child. It’s the job that I have always dreamed about doing. Both of my parents encouraged my interest in photography.”

In addition to those photographic occasions already mentioned, Rowen also covers modeling shoots, landscapes and operates a photo-booth service. His love of photography shows up in yet another place: “I also co-own a co-op photography studio with Scott Miller, near the Arts District in downtown Phoenix.” It’s known as the Lunatic Lens Studio and it offers sets, lighting, model make up area and… no limits to creativity!

For being a “taker” of photos, Rowen is also a “giver.” He donates his time, skill and services to charities such as the MS Society and the Bruce Halle Foundation, as well as to various small, local businesses who need graphics for their promotional materials.

What kind of person is Rowen’s best customer? “The ones who repeatedly follow me to the local art walks,” he says, “which I participate in several times a year in the Phoenix area. For shoot-for-hire gigs, it’s the ones who give me full rein, to do as I wish, knowing that I will come up with something unique, and captivating.”

Dream history is as long as mankind’s. Our earliest ancestors thought dreams were happening to them from outside sources, such as departed loved ones, other kinds of spirits or gods. In 1899, Sigmund Freud wrote this in his book The Interpretation of Dreams, which kicked off scientific study of dreams. He said that dreams were “the royal road to the unconscious.” In 2015, the contents of your dreams can be mined for purposes that are both helpful and valuable.

If he were alive today, Freud could hire Richmond to speak at a corporate event, run a retreat, a workshop (including one on memoir writing) or provide wisdom to party guests. He might even allow her to become his personal dream analyst, something for which she has over 25 years of experience doing for others.

For two years she worked out of her property installing residential landscapes until eventually the opportunity arose for her to purchase a larger lot on the Old West Highway in Apache Junction. Apache Landscape Center was officially on the scene.

Kris, and her partner at the time- Jeff, continued landscaping while also growing their local nursery. The nursery allowed customers to visit and actually envision their ideas while selecting the plants and stone they wanted for their personal little pieces of desert. From mighty Saguaro cacti to the stunning Ocotillo, from beautiful, ancient, natural boulders, to fine granite, Apache Landscape was quickly becoming a premier spot for all things landscaping. After several years Kris bought Jeff’s share in the nursery and Kris’ daughter Kaia became her new partner.

A young, single valley mother, 26 years ago Kris found herself at a crossroads. She did not have much, but what she did have was passion, determination, two and a half acres of cacti covered land in Apache Junction, and a friend in the cactus business. Before long Kris had learned how to be business oriented in the plant/landscape industry and became known as “Kactus Kris, Inc.” She purchased an old pickup truck and through a lot of hard work, began making a name for herself.

Soon Kris was growing her own cacti while also buying wholesale from growers in Tucson and parts of California. She was eventually able to purchase a larger, nicer pickup truck, and with her sidekicks and legal permits, began harvesting native cacti from the deserts of Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Eventually Arlin discovered the real secret; he mixed the jojoba oil with aloe and cannabis oils and bathed and conditioned his skin in it. Clarissa Burt has made Cave Creek, Arizona, home for the last ten years. When she is not traveling to Italy, New York or L.A. she is in Arizona to kick back, visit family, and change out her suitcase.

Clarissa Burt is the heroine of one of the best-known story lines of all time – the one about the ugly duckling that turns into a beautiful swan. This dazzling swan has been the beauty editor of five different magazines and starred in stage, movie, television and radio productions. But there is so much more to the story.

By the time Clarissa was four years old she already knew the kind of attention she wanted from others and had teachers who would inspire her. Her classroom was Saturday morning television. She watched black and white movie classics with big screen goddesses like

Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth. She studied everything, transfixed by their physical beauty and elegant make-up, their couture gowns and willowy, seductive movements.

Far from Hollywood, Clarissa spread her performer’s wings for the first time in the kindergarten play. When it was “sing-along” time, she sat directly behind Mrs. Bailey as she played piano for the class. Clarissa (never really a quiet child) belted out the songs that Julie Andrews sang in “Mary Poppins,” and Mrs. Bailey chose her for the title role. The applause after the performance was the elixir that fed her dream to somehow, some way, get back on stage! (By the way, can you remember all the words to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? Or just try saying it three times really fast!)”

Sadly, by the age of ten, Clarissa’s dream of ever looking like her screen idols was gone. Tall, lanky, gangly and shy with a serious overbite and protruding ears, she never thought there was the slightest possibility of becoming a movie star or a model. Boys were looking at the other curvier girls. Her chest wasn’t developing quite like theirs, and she had to buy her pants in the boy’s department at Sears. Her self-esteem was so low she shelved the whole idea for many years, but she never forgot. Self-esteem would become a very important concept in her life.

Fast forward to 1979 where twenty-year-old Clarissa mustered up the courage to move to New York to begin working as an administrative assistant in the garment district. Now that she had a few more curves and a steady hand with make-up, co-workers prompted Clarissa to take up a modeling career. She very timid and unbelieving. One day a make-up artist friend of hers called to say that a photographer was looking for models to do test shots.

“I didn’t know the first thing about posing,” Clarissa admits. “After hair, makeup and wardrobe, I just got in front of the camera and it seemed to work. I was scared – really nervous, but I was in my glory!”

Clarissa had her opportunity and took full advantage; she submitted shots to the top modeling agencies in New York City. “I’ll never forget when I got the call from not only the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, but Elite Models, too! This was a turning point for me and there was no going back.”

Twenty-four years old at the time, Clarissa chose Wilhelmina to represent her and soon found herself on a plane to Paris. One year later, she moved to Europe in order to continue her career.

She would soon be known as one of the top thirty runway girls in the world, working for the world’s top designers. She found herself on over 250 magazine covers, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. For ten years she was the official “Face” of Orlane Cosmetics world-wide.

Acting quickly followed and Clarissa made twenty movies in Italy.

She played “Xayide” in The Neverending Story, Part II and it wasn’t long before Clarissa started tearing up the Italian television scene.

“The message here is just believe … stop wasting time thinking it can’t be you. Start thinking: Why couldn’t it be me?! Why

“I love everything that has to do with keeping women happy, healthy and safe with their condition and position in life. It always comes down to their self-esteem and feeling of selfworth. The stronger the better!”

In 2011, the “Walking Africa” campaign asked Clarissa to step in as Ambassador for the United States with the scope of raising awareness for African women and nominating them for the Nobel Peace Prize. She traveled many times to Africa and saw firsthand how difficult it is for women there to get clean water for drinking, cooking and bathing. Raising awareness of their plight was something Clarissa was compelled to do. Notwithstanding the large pool of 211 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize that year, the African women won! Clarissa is very proud of this crowning moment and to have met these amazing women and spoken on their behalf at European Parliament in Brussels.

The Vatican has called Clarissa on two separate occasions to recognize her for her social work. “Meeting Pope John Paul II in a private audience twice remains one of my greatest experiences,” she says. “I am now slated to meet Pope Francis, and I can’t wait!”

Clarissa has decided to marry her two favorite passions – media and women. She is in the start-up phase of a game-changing global initiative called TEN: The Envelopment Network.

TEN is an online multi-media platform for women that include television, radio, magazine, her website www.EnvelopHer.com and coming soon the TEN APP. “TEN is the ‘go-to’ network where women encounter, engage and encourage one another,” Clarissa says. “Women need to hear the truth, get the facts, and be properly informed and educated. I’m not afraid to tell them what they need to know. This network is the news they need to hear from the women they need to know!”

The Clarissa Burt brand launches on QVC Milan in January touting Italian products that Clarissa has personally chosen, including lounge wear, jewelry, bathing suits and cover-ups, purses and organic chocolate without sugar and dairy.

Clarissa was recently nominated as president of Comfimprese World, an association of micro, small and medium sized Italian businesses providing assistance to Italian companies wishing to work in the United States, and the Foundation Italia-USA has appointed her President for Made in Italy products in North America.

As founder of The International Cultural Awards, and under the auspices of the Italian Consulate, Clarissa will award Italian or Italian Americans for Distinction in Professional Excellence in a ceremony in Los Angeles on March 8th, 2016.

Clarissa’s transformation continues for herself as well as encouraging others to “Look Good, Feel Good, Be Good for the Greater Good.… it is indeed a beautiful life.

Marijuana has been a source of controversy for centuries. Cultures from ancient Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas have used cannabis in its various forms for medicinal, spiritual and industrial applications. The recent two decades have seen resurgence in interest in marijuana reform, decriminalization and legalization. The debate often blurs the lines between the recreational and medical use. Those who choose to use medical marijuana are at risk both legally and socially. There remains a stigma of the hippie pot counterculture versus the botanical use of cannabis used in treatment of certain diseases and conditions. As various states have passed laws allowing for use of recreational and medical marijuana, the federal law still considers it an illegal drug.

Arizona legalized medical use of marijuana in 2010. Patients in Arizona wishing to use cannabis for a qualifying condition must get certification following a medical evaluation and application to the state for a marijuana card. The patient and caretaker must have an understanding of the laws regarding purchase, production and handling of cannabis. The medical use of marijuana is the opportunity for people to choose therapies that are safer and more effective than current legal mainstream therapies.

The patients will have to advocate on their own to determine the best treatments for

The patient and their family must be diligent in their investigation of medical marijuana and build a team of advisors to help them learn of options for their conditions. Many primary care physicians and specialists in mainstream medicine are hesitant to recommend medical cannabis as an alternative to conventional therapies. This hesitancy arises from a lack of education, experience and knowledge about botanical therapies in general and cannabis in particular. There are a limited number of physicians in Arizona that have practices that consider marijuana therapies or have knowledge to properly advise about dosage or best products to treat conditions. The medical director and staff of the medical marijuana dispensaries are often your best source of information about products, delivery systems, dosage and application of treatment for maximum effectiveness.

Currently the best providers to advise patients on the use of botanical marijuana medicines are specialists in botanicals. In Arizona these are naturopathic medical doctors and allopathic physicians that have taken additional study in the use of cannabinoids for the treatment of disease. More physicians in various fields will increase their knowledge and use of products as research and use increases. Once the patient has made the choice and decided on a course of treatment,

it is important to keep all your treating physicians informed of your treatment. Many patients take advantage of both alternative and conventional treatments for their conditions.

Research has revealed that the human body has a system of messenger and receptor molecules that help with communication within the nervous and immune systems. Cannabis is the only known plant to interact with this system that has been dubbed the endocannabinoid system. These endocannabinoids are produced by the body and are partF of the feedback loop to help regulate nervous and immune responses. Exercise is one of the activities that cause our bodies to increase production of endocannabinoids, thought now to be the source of the “runners high”. The research further theorizes that certain diseases, symptoms and conditions result from endocannabinoid “deficiency syndrome” such as migraine, inflammatory and pain syndromes, psychological disorders and other conditions.

The active components of marijuana are divided into cannabinoids and terpenoids. These phytocannabinoids mimic endocannabinoids produced by our own bodies. The molecules interact with the receptors in the body labeled as CB1 (brain and nerve) and CB2 (tissue cell, blood cell and immunity). Through this path way they have shown to have benefits to the immune and nervous systems. These connections help explain the benefit to patients with pain, nausea, neurological disease and cancer. Research into the endocannabinoid system and the development of various strains of cannabis and pursuit of pharmaceutical versions of these botanicals has accelerated over the last 10 years.

There are a wide range of conditions that have shown response to cannabinoid treatment. The neurological effects have shown benefit in treatment of seizures, epilepsy, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders, ADHA, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. The effects to the immune and hematopoietic systems can help organs and cells fight cancer, aids and other chronic disease. There is a growing body of evidence both clinical and anecdotal indicating conditions that respond to cannabis therapy.

Treat cannabis like any medication used in therapeutic situations, proper dosage and appropriate considerations for safety should be employed. Seek consultation with physicians and pay attention to your responses and reactions. There is no lethal overdose of marijuana ever documented. Side effects occur with any medication, but compared to the more mainstream pharmaceuticals, medical marijuana has much fewer side effects with reduced morbidity. Medical marijuana is often a safer and more effective alternative to these mainstream medications.

The use of marijuana shows great promise in a wide variety of conditions and may be a powerful botanical weapon against diseases such as depression, PTSD and cancer. We are currently in an exciting time of discovery and transition. I urge you to investigate the possibilities, research and people involved so that you can make your own informed choice.
