Dare-devil Ed’s Sky-dive for a Worthy Cause To leap out of an aircraft the day after your last GCSE exam might not be on the top of the wish-list for most teenagers – (the day before your first one maybe!) However, when you feel so strongly about a volunteering organisation, whose work is aimed at supporting youngsters just like yourself and your friends, then, for sixteen-year-old, Bourne Academy student, Ed SabertonWard, it was just a question of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’.

Common problems which they encounter include family and relationship difficulties, issues regarding loneliness and anxiety, problems associated with low self-esteem and bullying, self-harm, abuse, addiction, distress through bereavement or loss, depression and difficulty with decision-making.

So, on Saturday June 16th, at Sibson Airfield, Ed undertook the perilous journey from uncertainty, through apprehension to eventual, total exhilaration, as he leapt from 10,000 feet, in order to raise over £500 in sponsorship.
