Mayor WORDS FROM THE
Mayor of Market Deeping
COUNCILLOR JOSHUA YARHAM
Unfortunately, and unavoidably, I missed chairing our October Full Council meeting.
I
will respond to the decision made regarding the funding allocated to the Deepings Youth Group next month, when I have the full facts, and have considered and acted upon a productive and positive path forwards.
However, I am thoroughly disappointed at the level of debate on social media on the local Facebook pages that I have seen. We are a tolerant, accepting and diverse community, who show our best attributes when working together, not acting to divide us apart. On a brighter note, Cllr. Hembrow and Cllr. Broughton have been successfully managing and overlooking the works taking place on the John Eve Field and the Sanctum. I thank them for their support and on-going work.
Furthermore, the BMX track has been renovated with new surface materials. We also seem to have acquired a bike-rack in Market Square. I have contacted Lincolnshire County Council’s relevant Councillor, requesting an explanation as to why Market Deeping Town Council was not given prior notice or allowed adequate input into the discussions of design and location. I will endeavour to work with Cllr. Trollope-Bellew over the matter to have it removed so that LCC have an opportunity to try better next time. Finally, please carry on social distancing, wearing face masks and washing hands regularly when interacting with others. I wish you all good health!
