1 19TH CENTURY ZUNI OLLA WITH DEER - 10 X 14 INCHES Traditional decoration of a central rosette among heartline deer within half-round openings. A pronounced concave base. Semi-liquid material was added to the circular area surrounding that concave base from the inside and is now hardened, presumably to repair a weakening or separation of the base.

This area of the base may have been thinned by use and sliding the object on rough surfaces. Measures 10 x 14 inches.

Good noting ladle wear at the rim, overall rubs and small flakes commensurate with age and use. Base reinforcement as described.

SIOUX BEADED & QUILL DECORATED TOBACCO BAG An example with typical lazy stitch sinew sewn beading on the top rim and beaded strip up each side of the top panel, diamond and tuning fork like designs float on white on one side of the fully beaded central panel, different geometric designs on the opposite side of that panel; the bottom panel consists of rawhide strips wrapped with dyed porcupine quills having a red background with yellow crosses woven into the panel and terminating in leather trim. 4 C. 1900 SIOUX FULLY BEADED CHILD'S CEREMONIAL MOCCASINS An unusual pair of sinew sewn child's moccasins with beaded soles of red, white and blue, and high top uppers with remnant cloth ribbon remains back side, central beaded image of a bat or bird in white-heart red , light blue, navy and metallic beads. Around the sole are navy, white-heart red and light blue geometric designs on a bright green border. Each measures approximately 5.5 inches long by 3.5 inches high by 3 inches wide. 19 GIBSON ES-150 ELECTRIC SPANISH GUITAR Classic ES-150, Gibson's first model in the Electric Spanish line, launched in 1936. It became the first truly successful six-string electric guitar. The ES-150 designation came from the $150 price for the guitar, the matching EH-150 amplifier, and 15 foot cord. This model was made famous by Charlie Christian, said to be the first electric guitar soloist,

and who later became a member of the Benny Goodman sextet. Many see Charlie Christian's adoption of the ES-150 as the beginning of the modern guitar and even America's modern music.

This example has a metal tailpiece and single neck pickup. The guitar was assembled with a solid spruce arch top, solid maple back and sides, mahogany neck, and rosewood fret board.

Pickguard stabilizer has oxidized. It has double sound holes, twin control knobs, 19 frets, and a rosewood fret board and bridge. There is severe crazing to finish throughout, significant scuffing and scratches on back, with wear to finish on the back of the neck consistent with considerable play. Includes a hardshell case with good padding inside. Case shows wear inside and out, but still in good serviceable condition. 20 SIGMA DM-2 ACOUSTIC GUITAR, WITH CASE Clean and tight Sigma/C.F .Martin acoustic guitar with steel strings. Guitar maker C.F. Martin&Co in Nazareth, PA, created Sigma Guitars in 1970 to compete with the increasing number of imported guitars. Sigma guitars were made in Japan, Korea, and China. The Korean manufactured label dates production of this guitar between 1984-1994. The guitars were sent to Martin&Co to be

21 SEARS SILVERTONE N-3 ACOUSTIC GUITAR, WITH CASE Silvertone model N-3 acoustic guitar.

The L555 number on the stamp inside the guitar indicates this was probably manufactured for Sears by the Kay Musical Instrument Company. Silvertone guitars were used by a virtual "who's who" of rock, pop, and folk artists. This model is a 19 fret guitar with double sound holes. Clean and tight, but obviously needs a new set of strings.

There are a few random scuffs on the finish, the frets have lost their finish, and a pick guard stabilizer has oxidized.

22 HARMONY STELLA ACOUSTIC GUITAR H929 Harmony Stella H929 with stenciled fret markers, a metal tailpiece and 18 frets. The Stella guitar brand was acquired by the Harmony company in 1939. Production years for the model H929 were 1945-1970. The white plastic pick guard dates this post-1961. Elvis Presley used a Stella H929 in the movie "Jailhouse Rock". This example is missing the G string tuning post and is in very rough condition, with numerous dings, dents, retouches, blemishes. One of the strap hooks has been replaced. No case is included. 23 HARMONY H-6341 ACOUSTIC GUITAR The Harmony Guitar Company originated in Chicago in 1892, and grew into the most successful American-made stringed instrument producer. Sales in 1930 topped 500,000. The Harmony H-6341 acoustic flat top model was manufactured between 1972-1975, at the very end of the Chicago factory's operation. This example has a birch body, steel reinforced neck, and 19 frets.

24 CHRISTY LONGNECK FIVE STRING BANJO GIBSON CASE Christy Banjos began in Denver Colorado in the 1960s. This is the long neck model five string banjo. Faux wood veneer over cast metal body with bright chromed fittings and rosewood fret board. Shows signs of dedicated use, with wear on skin and a bit of crazing to the headstock. Bridge appears very good. Cosmetically in good condition.

Tight and clean. Includes nice hardshell case, tuning fork, a Fast Action Banjo Capo, several sets of replacement strings, and an assortment of plectrums.

25 ORPHEUM NO. 2 BANJO WITH CARVED NECK, RESONATOR Orpheum Banjos originated from the early 1900s in New York. We are unable to locate a serial number, apparently serial numbering of these banjos did not start until 1912. This is a 4 string tenor banjo with 17 frets, the "short scale" model. Beautiful partially carved neck with abalone/mother-of-pearl inlaid fret board and ornate headstock veneer.

237 LATE 19TH C ITALIAN ENGRAVED BONE INLAY CABINET A one door cabinet with mirrored back, two inch beveled glass in the single front door and the side lights that flank the door, the left side has its original beveled glass and the right side has plain flat glass. Ebonized hardwood with full columns at each corner and inlaid designs of etched bone depicting gryphons, masks, caryatids and foliate designs. Measures 66 x 50 x 16 inches. A six inch chip of missing trim upper left corner, two inch trim piece just above the door is missing, one side block is missing inlaid bone that measures 1/2 inch by 2 inches, and the same corresponding block on the opposite side is missing it's bone inlay. Scattered chips and veneer loss throughout the base, one loose trim block present from the base.

No other damage or repair. Generally very good without major damage or repair.

related accessories all manufactured by George Mason & Co when they operated out of Denver Colorado circa 1890-1910. The gambling game Keno is of Chinese origin, dating back 2,000 years. It arrived in the western US in the 1840s with Chinese immigrants and became a popular fixture in gambling saloons of the "Old West". It is rare to find a machine in this condition, with so much of the original equipment intact. It has the numbered game balls, the register for withdrawn balls, game cards, and assorted markers. This example was found in a fitted primitive wooden box with tongue-and-groove construction and grain painted decoration. Mason & Co moved it's base of operations back to the original Newark NJ location in 1910.

The George mason Company has a Kansas City connection. In the 1940s, it was bought out by the K.C. Card Company, located at 12th and McGee in downtown Kansas City. The Cherry wood 'Goose' as it's called measures 22 inches high and 14 inches diameter. Each scorecard measures 7 x 8.5 inches and is signed 'George Mason and Company, Chicago Illinois and Denver Colorado'.

Excellent original condition with smooth original finish, bright original nickel plating, intact overall without damage or repair.

Unless otherwise stated in advertising and sale day announcement, the sale price will include a Buyer’s Premium of 8% to be added to the final bid accepted by the Auctioneer aka the final hammer price. This 8% premium may be reduced to 5% for payment by cash or check. Phone, Absentee and Internet bidding is subject to an increased buyer’s premium. All in-house purchases must be paid for at the end of the sale. We will accept cash, MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit cards.
